ok, manage to hear edifier M3300, M3400 and Altec lansing vs4212 (if Im not mistaken) side by side. (I cant remember which other Altec Lansing models I auditioned).
For a boom boom effect,
altec lansing vs4212 wins but sound is muffled. IMO for gaming sounds, and techno musics would be good.
M3400 - bass ok but sounds very loose (not defined). I do not know how to explain but I think that was my impression. Clarity less than M3300.
M3300 - Very bright sound, clear. Subwoofer need to turn the knob (at the back) to full to feel the bass. Bass is tight and defined. However, the boom boom feeling is not there. Treble is bright.
2 qns on M3300:
1- the subwoofer is facing the side. Would adjusting the subwoofer to face front make a lot of difference? or is it better to let the subwoofer to face its side.
2- the speakers I heard I believe are new. Would there be any noticable improvement in sound quality after their burn-in period? Would the bass improve and the treble not too bright?
Wish there's a place in KKinabalu to audition the S2.1MKII
I auditioned
Samsung speaker (cant remember the model number), but it was in a different shop (ie not comparing side-by-side with the edifier). IMHO Samsung is too bright, didnot feel the bass. So, a better pick for me would be M3300.
nb: didnot auditioned the edifier at PC City (edifier's Sabah's distributor) but at another pc store.
