ilharess-did u get ur v85??i was there at the pasar lambak..the crowd was much much better to those previous pasar lambak..

i bought the ic2200h instead.. got the whole complete set plus antenna, bracket n cable for RM750..

they told me i might regret getting the handy first and not the rig.. coz if.. i want to transmit later i might not get the result that i wanted.. so they suggested that i get the rig first and maybe later the handy.. btw.. they were selling the v85 for RM600...

out of curiosity.. how was the crowd at previous pasar lambak?? coz that was my first time..

it would really depends, me myself i would encourage people to get a handie ... coz wih a handie its easy, take it in and out, u can only Rx at the moment, so u can practically listen to it anywhere ...

and bout transmiting, u can hit any repeaters with a handie at 5w, even mobile uses 5w to hit repeaters with a simple antenna ... like MC101 or any cili padi ...

then at home if u wan, u can set up a home base antenna ... anything like a thai slimjim or home brew one urself ...

5w, colinear - can hit orali - indon k ... trend in MY is to go qrp ... low power - superb antenna ...

my fren bought a yaesu handie on the same day.. but when he saw the installation of my rig.. he wants to get a rig next month.. lol.. he said can not tahan oledi...

yeah.. i think we should have a TT session.. working location is TPM and QTH Sunway Damansara.. but I'm around keramat/ampang side quite often..

p/s i went to sierra charlie sierra's antenna class once.. kinda interesting.. hope to make one on my own.. or maybe more than one.. lol..

ilhares-congrats on getting ur first rig.ic2200 is a very good rig...make full use of it...for the crowd at MARES on the previous pasar lambak, i feel the latest pasar lambak is more hapenning.more ppl compared to last time...maybe more HAMsters in the making...
maybe we can arrange for a LYN HAMSters gathering aka Tango Tango(TT) around end of the month.Cheras/ampang should be appropriate place to have the TT as few HAMsters here are around the vicinity. Me myself's QTH is at cheras as well.

yeah lets meet up sometime this month ...
