bro, firstly use ur original thread u opened earlier thumbup.gif .....no need to create a lot of thread to ask each question....can mod please merge this thread to earlier Phoenixwunin's thread.... notworthy.gif

anyway, go for first option that is HU + front comp set nod.gif ....since u are sitting in car up front, most of the time u will be listening to music tongue.gif ....do something for urself first then think of others in da back...hahaha.... laugh.gif

I think ur concern is here is lack of bass, thats why u need a sub badly (addicted to PC speaker's sub hehehe) laugh.gif ....front comps can give u reasonable bass but not exactly to an extend that no sub is needed at all wink.gif ....a setup without a sub is not a complete setup... icon_rolleyes.gif

a sub cannot really function without an amp (meaning u might end up spending more than RM1.5K for a good sub and amp), use the current budget RM1.5K for front staging meaning a good comp set and HU flex.gif ....then save up a liitle bit more for a good amp and sub.....

there shud be no problem if there is no sub for now smile.gif ...by the way wat car u using and wat kind of music u listening?

If that is the case... I think I will get a good speaker first. Upped my budget from RM200 for component speaker to RM700 for it...

Is this a good budget just for the component speakers only??

Regarding HU... haven't bought one yet... dunno which one should I buy... but my main concern here is speaker first. I really hope RM700 is sufficeint for beginners like me

RM700 is like healthy budget for beginners like u smile.gif ....but mind to tell u that u cant get fantastic bombastic speakers in the market brows.gif ....even at about RM1K u can only get good entry level like MB Quart discus series (which is entry level in MBQ brand)....perhaps u know where to look, u might get a good mid level speakers like DLS referance series at RM1K... thumbup.gif

to say if RM700 for speakers can feel huge difference for beginners, that is like correct statement lor biggrin.gif ...on HU, if u are using standard OEM one, then changing those speakers will make a difference but u cant really tune ur setup to wat u like sweat.gif ...standard HUs normally doesnt come with functions to adjust bass and treble, normally very limited function but there is some good standard HUs give u more than u need.... rclxms.gif

example like wat I did is that leave on standard speakers first, change the HU first and roughly tune the HU to match the speakers and my music taste, slowly by slowly I realised that standard speakers cannot tahan high pitch sound, they will sound breaking up, so now Im looking to change those speakers ler.... drool.gif

Oh... what do you guys think of setup with good HU + good component speakers + chipalang amp + chipalang woofer. Will it sound good?? Cause as far as I'm concern woofer only produce the boom.. boom sound rite?? Seems like not important enough to buy the expensive ones... though shocker is rite... my main problem in setup-ing my ICE now is subwoofer... really want that boom.. boom thing.

well if u ask a honest and good setup, forget those chaplang amp and woofer, think of good HU and front speakers first rolleyes.gif ....if u think later those chaplang amp and woofer is not good enuff then u kena change again also wat...might as well go for something good once and use it for a sometime lor rather than making constant unneccessary upgrades... wink.gif

there is no short cut to success, same goes for ICE nod.gif .....u can take or buy a fake degree and get a good job somewhere, then we u got sick working there u sure want to go apply work elsewhere and suddenly hiring managers elsewhere and everywhere realised u are using fake degree to apply jobs, then u die lor....have to actually start taking the real degree from bottoms up grumble.gif ....same thing for ICE lor.... whistling.gif

wat we trying to do here is to assist ppl the right path and save money along the way, we can recommend u something that fits ur budget but end of the day its ur money and how u spend it is up to u notworthy.gif ....if u feel things are expensive, then u have 3 options: 1. buy ICE stuffs that are not expensive, mostly like entry level stuff....2. buy 2nd hand used ICE stuffs that might be better than entry level stuff....3. save up more money or upgrade slowly....

For the moment my ride is only Kancil... thought of changing it to Satria next year (but I think the chance is only 30% now... since I think I like my Kancil very much now... spend too much money in that ride already)... and the music I listen too are like One in a Million by Bosson, I Wish I had an Angle by Nightwish and sometimes... the only Korean song I like... Sweet Dream by Jang Na Ra. Dunno how should I say about the type of music I listen most... but basically I like those of techno.. rock and fast paced music... yet sometimes slow type music like Hotel California and calm + fun music like the korean Sweet Dream.

Anyway if I decided not to change my ride... which means I will be using this Kancil for my ICE... what sort of speakers would you all recommend??

OK, wen selecting speakers dont see wat car u are using doh.gif .....ppl normally ask wat car u driving due to want to see whether its a big, huge, small or mid size car.....also want to see if there is some space in the trunk to put up subs......some cars (example myvi) cannot put 6.5 inch component speaker at front doors due to no standard panel readily made by perodua.....speaker selection shud be done based on music preference, personal liking (meaning u like it since u listened to it) and budget allocated for it... bruce.gif

as for recommending speakers based on ur music taste, I cant do it la since Im not a expert rclxs0.gif .....anyway, someone did tell me sometime back that for a versatile music like u listening (different types of music), JBL GTO component sets can do the job quite well.... smile.gif

sorry for the long story cheers.gif
