If you don't need so accurate numbers, which are usually for competition, then the best is just compare to the mirror and pictures online.

Look up Google Images for body fat percentage, that would give you a good guideline on your category.

Combine that with a second more accurate and almost free way, is to use the tailors' measurement tape, and measure your neck and belly.

Then input those figures into this calculator: http://fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp...c=Body-Fat-Navy

The numbers are good enough.

7.8% bf.

Highly doubt the accuracy.

Why those bf scale machine thing sucks ?

- The amount of water in your body, your skin temperature and recent physical activity can all adversely affect the results.

- As with calipers there are different equations used to calculate body fat from your body density. Unfortunately you are stuck with the equation the manufacturers programmed in and it might not be the most one appropriate for you.

Best way is using the calipers. I bought one from Garage Sales for rm10.

No need to doubt coz it really not accurate but it is good to use to check your progression. If you're weekly use that machine to test (with same condition) then u will know whether u r making good progression or not. I would say my PBF that time is around 7.8% + 2% to 3% after compare with BF percentage chart

Actual BF not important for me so i will not buy calipers. I just use that machine to check my progress

If you know some gym members, I heard they can bring you in for a trial, so you can use their machine.

Most likely Fitness First or Celebrity Fitness should have. I actually am tempted to go there for a trial to test my BF % as well... blush.gif

Yep, that's why I'm still vacillating. Better if you know someone that's a member, just bring in as a guest. Quickly in, use the machine and get out. hmm.gif

I think Anytime Fitness won't use sales talk. I visit Anytime once at Kota Damansara there. Their staff say Anytime is not like commercial gym, they wont push us to join their gym. But it's true coz they never push me to join at all after i enquire all the fees etc.

are you sure this is as accurate as the Inbody body composition assessment found in commercial gyms?
maybe if you double check with those machines and with yours, see whether both tally or not

sorry bro, i'm not able to answer your question. I'll see if I got chance to go gym and find an InBody measure device.

this band was developed by InBody with their latest tech, accurate or not you may throw it to InBody company tongue.gif tongue.gif

you may refer to this Kickstarter Inbody link for reference

I need to get my body fat down more first, later it shows more than 20%, I'd be damn disappointed... doh.gif
