btw, i see a lot ppl talking about USB C.

what's the advantages/disadvantages of USB C compared to micro USB?

and I guess cause USB C no water resistant technology yet, maybe thats why they opted to remain with micro usb?

using it as extra storage probably won't slow it down that much.
*
Extra storage? If you launch gallery, it will scan the pics and videos. Launch music will scan all the songs.

LOL

just put in old features from s5 into s6 and call it innovation.

microSD, water-proofing.

now lg g5 is real innovation.
*
Its so funny to call any innovation then since they were invented way before actual world implementation.

Lovely.

Something I really need to ask, as you all know the S6 Edge/Edge Plus is so hard to pick up from a flat surface from the sides because of the curved edges and the flat back. But this time round, the back is curved, so you should be able to feel and grip the sides and pick it up easily from a flat surface, eg: table. How is it?
*
Is it? Have no problem picking up my naked S6E.

The success of LG G5's modularity solely depends on the accessories and the companies producing them.
*
You can make an accessories that plugin the micro usb that look nice with the case and call it modular too... LOL

If you think the dac improve audio quality, why not include it in the first place? If you think it need a bigger battery, why shrink it? Why do you need a handgrip to take picture with smartphone anyway?

No one came up with anything interesting this year. I think Edge stole the story last year but thats it.

Cant wait for flexible display...

Few dollars is a LOT in the industry. Especially for a low key feature.
*
Low key? LOL... then why are they bragging about audio quality?

cost of a DAC chip is cheap, but the engineering that goes into a decent dac+amp chip is not.
*
What are you talking about?
What sort of engineering you talking about the LG DAC module? You are expecting audiophile quality?

Apparently only 32gb units will initially be brought in for Spore. What is Samsung thinking now ? Many potential buyers will be dissapointed with such a move
*
Hehe... I thought most people want expandable memory. Now want 64gb? Hmm...

I doubt Samsung can even hit sales of 1000 units in Malaysia market nowadays given the poor ringgit + other cheaper alternatives.
*
LOL

Heard the same thing about S6 Edge. Heard the same thing about iPhone 6S.

Sometimes its unbelievable but people nowadays find it easier to part with their money. Thats a fact. Look at car sales... just need some sweetener.

Verizon giving customers to select between Gear S2 and Gear VR. Wow wow wow...

Even though many said S7 won't be coming in but I think we will see them. I'm not surprised if telco C or M has privilege for normal S7.

Isn't the other way around? S7 gets Note 5 back curved screen.

Honestly speaking, Note has always retain an elegant look.

And s6 edge is smaller than s7 edge.

So this 3099 is well worth it!
*
Like this also can?

Once upon a time, smaller means more money... hahahaha...

Now opposite pulak... anyway, still depends on user. S6 Edge is really special because its smaller than 5.1 inches due to the Edge. Really a good opponent for iPhone 6s.

Dude for the 2nd point is not Audiophile DAP module,  its audiophile DAC module, I find it very useful to have a good DAC on a phone. Previous been lugging around 2 devices , my phone and a DAC/Amp module.  Now since using LG V10, it is really really convenient. It can drive my Sony MDR-Z7 cans, I can play my DSD audio file . I spent closely to RM4k on my setup , but with LG v10 , I get somewhat close to that setup but I got better mobility. I bought the V10 for RM2499. It can drive many High End Headphones and high end IEM.
Another problem that i face when using external DAC,  it connects to the phone usb,  so no way for me to charge my phone while listening.  So i'm draining phones battery and DAC battery.

Many phones can advertise good DAP/DAC feature, but knowing where to place the DAC /AMP chips in the phone is very crucial , and LG has done a very good job .

For an audiophile, I would buy v10 or G5 with the B&O module because you'll get a sound close to Sony's PHA-3 DAC but a better mobility and elegance.

The only thing gimmick about that is it advertise the 32 bit DAC.  24bit should be enough
*
There's review for the dac module already?? Can share the link?

Although I like the idea, but really skeptical about the audio quality claim that LG made. Normally those high end DAC really about fine tuning the sound with expensive caps, opamps and also clean power. All of that are not possible with the LG DAC module. So what the magic they are talking about? B&O fame or real audio quality?

Thats what Im interested in.

Bro,  both v10 and g5 are using ESS Sabre DAC.  I personally am using v10,  i can vouch the soundstage it produces is comparable to a mid end DAC which is still good.  I have PHA3 and my pioneer home theater both uses Sabre chipsets both produce excellent stereo seperation and soundstage.

As for g5,  digital trend has reviewed the b&o module, which they stated uses both ESS sabre dac and EsS amp.  And the review said using his Westone iem,  it really something worth considering.

Heres the link
hifi plus module review

DAC is just one of the component involved. Just because it uses certain DAC by no mean guarantee their sound quality will achieve those fine tuned DAC.

Given the limited space they had in the phone itself, or the module, I do have my doubts. Wait until its available here and then try... best is to listen to it personally.

But compared with LG G5, G5 streams at 24-bit aptx HD but S7 still stream at 16-bit.

Dont waste time with Apt-X...

If you are going to use bluetooth headset, then no choice. Otherwise just get wifi audio receiver, guarantee no compression.
