Scissor grill is nice choice.  Make sure get the thick metal version like the old coffee shop type, i saw many are very flimsy and thin and is mainly for show not for prevention.

Lighting effect helps put on the finishing touch, reno almost complete.

Finally scissors grille up, mission accomplished.

Searching around for faux concrete slab or artisan cement effect wall finished but was put off by high prices, faux concrete slab can cost as much as RM40.00+ psf while artisan cement effect wall cost around RM14.00 psf.

Had a long discussion with contractor and we agreed to remove existing paint to see what's underneath, both were surprised the precast concrete looks good so decided to bring out its natural beauty. After paint removed, we sand it even then painted it with a waterproof sealant to prevent cement dust, drew some lines to bring out the effect too. Renovation still going on and these are the pix I have for now.

Those aiming to achieve this kinda feature wall, perhaps can check if your desire wall are using the precast concrete.

Around RM12.00 psf provided your original base is concrete slab.

Next to this wall is my neighbor, our level all quadrant unit. If walls happened to be bricks then have to skim a layer of cement but effect wise won't be this rugged. The current sealant is the regular waterproofing solution use for bathrooms, it's not glossy, did told my contractor I don't want it glossy, keep it natural.

700rm for brick tiles and 1300rm for wall prep and tiling.

Which sealant brand u use? My ID is going to lay raw cement on the wall and he didnt ask me to put the sealant on it. Should I? Please advise. And if I put sealant over the raw cement, what will the after effect look like? will it still retain the natural feel of the cement concrete wall?
