Hi Sifu-sifu sekalian,

booked my M3 HS white, shud be arrive next week (told by SA), am from kuantan anyway,

wanna ask about the bodykit, bodykits by right is to fight the air flow at high speed? if we install those from China, will it create more wind noise ( since m3 already famous with the NVH)? or will it cause the body unstable at high speed since its not OEM. thinking to buy from taobao myself but heard forums say depends on luck on the quality. anyway, the air flow is the main concern for me as i m travelling alot in my job.

QUOTE(amduser @ Jun 11 2016, 11:47 PM)
bodykit for our car doesn't help in improving airflow and increase downforce, those skirting doesn't really spoil the shape of the car so it is still okay to install

FYI, i've tried top speed of 170km/h at straight line and the car still stable, that is without any bodykit or spoiler even with bodykit there will be no difference

the thing is, if the one who installed the bodykit didn't do a proper job to secure the bodykit to the car body it might drop off under high speed due to wind flow and vibration

if you lowered the car then those skirting might be damaged when you going through bump or ram

those bodykit you found on taobao is mostly PP material, is kind of a lightweight plastic if you worried about it then just go for the one without bodykit addon
*
dayum. if drop off in highway, really terrible la!
what i worry is the bodykits will cause mess airflow since they only design it for beauty purpose instead of the real use of bodykits.
soon im getting the car, is there anything i need to do except the following
1. check the car properly before signing
2. do tint
3. thought of wrapping the top
4. window visor ( not sure )
5. i wanna * black* the front mazda3 emblem
6. get a spoiler (saw lelong selling around rm200)
7. check on the current issue on kruk kruk or ngek ngek sound

QUOTE(amduser @ Jun 12 2016, 09:15 AM)
so far there is no one complain about instability after install bodykit, a bodykit doesn't simply drop off unless you hit something or improper installation

and those bodykit that you add is just skirting, it doesn't change the overall shape of the car thus it will not affect the airflow, the major contribution to the aerodynamic is the body shape design of the car, the airflow underneath the car and the turbulence when the airflow exit the car at the rear, this is why the spoiler and bodykit is just for cosmetic purpose only, unless you install front aerofoil, rear diffuser and an oversize GT wing

also for our daily driving speed, those things give neither more fuel consumption or better stability, at most is just 2-3kg extra weight or less

but of couse it is up to you whether you want to get a bodykit or not

if you install window visor it might cause wind noise when driving above certain speed depends on the design of the visor, for mine the wind noise is noticeable after 100km/h, without music it is noticeable at 80km/h
*
wind noise, dont reallly bother cause i m from saga/axia driver wink.gif
i wanted to install bodykits, afraid the front bumper changed might affect the overall driving experience. thanks for sharing, have a clearer info now. last time never install any bodykit or spoiler .
even something like this will not affect the air flow ? Attached Image

I would guess Eibach suits your needs (currently using too)
H&R drop is too low, Tein is more performance type
the rest is abit uncommon here
dropped my front diffuser on highway, improper installation.....

Taking my car on wed/thursday,

Wonder is there any thing we can/need to do and dont?
such as will bodykits affect the warranty ? like if we accident then they will excusing us due to the bodykits. coz my SA, vy new , ask him this and that, he all dont know cry.gif

for tint, i might take huper optik / raytech, dont really wan to use that raytech 'voucher' . prefer choosing myself instead limited by the voucher.

for window visor, dont wan to install first, lazada selling at around rm 100++

bought the key cover from lazada too. tongue.gif tongue.gif

now thinking about the spoiler, i wan to get a spoiler, the rear kosong, feels like lack of something.

QUOTE(amduser @ Jun 13 2016, 05:17 PM)
If you accident then should claim insurance not the warranty

Body kit won't affect warranty claim, unless you want to claim for color difference or scratches when you collect your car, but that have to do it on the spot when you collect your car, not after you install body kit

If you want to claim for battery failure for example, body kit is not related to battery so they won't care if you have body kit or not

So far there are 4 type of spoiler, the commonly found OEM ducktail spoiler, JDM modified ducktail spoiler, autoexe spoiler and some Taiwan spoiler that look like Honda civic FD spoiler
*
hi hi amduser, do you mind to share the link of the spoilers? any seller in malaysia?
feels like wan to do this do that , rims, bodykits, spoiler, wrap, icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

besides that, anyone have experience with the front emblems, feels like spraying it black. with plastidip?

some tips for you when you get your new car since you upgrade from myvi

the bonnet is twice length of your myvi, and the seating position of the driver seat is situated slightly to the center of the car, so you have to really be careful when you park head in, reverse park should be no problem since the boot is not that long

when you navigate in shopping mall car park also have to be careful, especially paradigm mall and 1U old wing rooftop ramp, the first day i done my coating then i scratched the rims in 1U car park doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

and the car body is also wider, so it might take you sometime to get used to the side mirror and the wider body

Try not to waste your money on coating and body kits. The Mazda 3 body lines are beautiful already without bodykit. Coating doesn't protect your paint against bird poo, tree sap, watermark, UV light or scratches. Just wax your car every 2-3 months.

Spend your money on more useful items like tyre pressure monitoring system, front sensors and autobrake lock/auto folding side mirror instead of cosmetics. Just my 2 cents.

Hi ginny88,

installing those thing will affect the warranty as well? do u mind to show the link here?TQTQ rclxms.gif

It depends, for coating i think worth doing, as i had 2 cars in my house with Sierra glow coating, really shiny, of course more shiny than a brand new car paint. And not so easy to get dirty compared to cars without coating. And RM 950 you get 5 years warranty, even if you involved in accident, they can free do coating again for max 3 panels of your car. Coating is still extra protection and your car look even nicer. And if do coating, u save more money on polishing.

Just my opinion.
*
950 is cheap tho, which coating?
in kuantan its around 2k+ for the branded, and i calculated for my own reference and feel, better not to.

rm2500 (tint) / RM20 (wash car) = 125 times i can wash the car
1 week wash once, i can wash for like 2 years plus. and the coating i heard is not fully covered if accident.
every 2 months i pay extra rm30 for wax coating 2 years only rm400+-

950 is from Sierra Glow, they have quite good review also~ you can do some research online.
Basically you also save some hassle, because easier to take care or wash.
*
can u ask ask that person any shop in kuantan doing it? tq

depends on which part you do la, but yea soundproof is quite expensive and require a lot of time and labour

if the shop has bad workmanship your car might have rattling sound in future and it is not immediately noticeable that type
*
hopefully tmr can get car then try is the noise so unbearable. maybe i used to potong which is worse lehh. see first.
but thanks for info. btw kuantan maybe got good workmanship, need to survey. i blif in kuantan kia

tomorrow collect car?  rclxms.gif

even if m3 has lesser noise compare to proton, you will still not like it, why? because you are spending 124k on a japanese C segment yet you get issue that a proton has laugh.gif

is sort of a natural behavior that when we are spending more on something we expect better quality from it
*
SA say either wed or thursday.

yea true oso. so will the sound proofing helps? i saw ads post of a shop doing the m6 sound proofing.
me: cant wait to get m3!
bank: cant wait to get instalment!
