Hi, just tried android auto. Works! Very elegant UI to connect, by going to Apps > Android Auto, meaning it is intergrated as a native app!
Pretty cool, but your Android will be in driving mode and while it can take calls and whatsapp messages (it reads it out to you), it's pretty limiting. CastScreen is the best though. I can use Waze from my Android, and audio is played through car speakers. Latency very very minimal, you wouldn't even really notice it. Basically anything you can do on android you can through Mazda Connect Display. Touchscreen on Mazda Connect does not work. Reverse Camera may not work.

Please remember that these apps are only suitable for V50 and above. Apps may interfere with reverse camera and audio. Understand that there is a risk of bricking your system so don't do any of the below if you don't know what you are doing.

ANDROID AUTO
1.  Install Android Auto app on your Mazda Connect
2.  Install Android Auto app on your phone
3. Connect the phone to USB and pair the phone bluetooth with the CMU
4. Switch audio input manually to Bluetooth Audio
5. Click on the AA icon under Applications Menu on the CMU
6. A black screen with credits should open up first.
7. Android Auto will then start. If it does not, pull out the USB and start over again (or check the installation.)
8. 2 ways to stop AA - Disconnect the USB cable or use the onscreen menu "Return to Mazda Connect" on last screen with speedo icon.

10. This option does not need wifi.

CASTSCREEN
1. Install castscreen receiver on Mazda Connect.
2. Install castscreen on Android.
3. Select > H264 > 800x600@160 > 1 Mbps > Server Mode > Start.
4. Plug in your Android with data & charging cable (not all cables can be used for data transfer) and done.

6. This option does not need wifi.

MAZDA MEDIA PLAYER
1. Install the Mazda Media Player app and connect your Mazda to your mobile's hotspot.
2. When connected, check in your phone connection settings and look for your IP address info that should look like 192.168.0.13.
3. Launch Mazda Media Player and input your IP address, other fields do not edit and press connect.
4. Use USB data & charging cable and launch Mirror, if successful it will immediately launch.
5. This option doesn't need to install anything to your Mazda Connect.

wiring thing I ask the accessories shop to help. They make a new cigarette lighter socket inside the fuse box (beside passenger left bottom), so that my car camcorder wire no need to cut.

been there 2 times, service okok la, but i hate the fat indian guy (not racist) attitude is bad, that day he even say m3 dont have SCBS some more say so loud until other people also can hear then i ask him follow me to my car and show him

got 1 SA there quite friendly, i go chat with him when i went for my 1000km service

their service is fast if not many car and i just walk in without booking, another thing i dont like is the location, i come from seremban that direction so after U-turn immediately have to take the left turn already, quite dangerous if a lot of cars

and the sc is quite small despite being a 4S service center, and parking space is limited

i got my car from there

what you gonna do with the leftover engine oil, your next service is also free? i think sc usually dont give back

i dont have the door alignment issue that you experienced, so far no one in the club has complained about it or any that i know of

i also not sure what paddle issue you talking about, if you say you floor the pedal then immediately release it then the rpm will maintain for a while to maintain the torque output for better response on next acceleration

Miss Hanz and SK_C, I still couldn't get what you mean.. Release paddle after 3k, engine response too slow to return normal?
what response are you looking for?
Release pedal then rpm should drop?
Or you mean when press on accelerator, delay abit then only engine response?

FYR, I upgraded from P.Persona, the lag is more obvious. Now this M3 is alot more fun, I would say my pedal response is quick and accurate. Simply follow my commands and wills.. 

I think what he mean is, the new bottle of engine oil, and what ever is left after changing, the unused oil left in the bottle, not old engine oil~ If perodua Glenmarie, they give back the remaining engine oil with it's original bottle without needed to request. So somehow there's some proof that they did change your engine oil, and that almost empty bottle is the proof.

hmm.. You give commands "please accelerate", then out of sudden you want it "please save fuel"..
The car respond: "Give la a few seconds to burn the extra fuel you wanted just now." 
By this way, I think I get what you mean.

You rev > 3500 rpm, then when release you are expecting the rpm and engine roar drop to +- 1k rpm..
I not sure how is vios acting, but persona does the same. Release pedal, RPM drop kaw kaw.. Out of sudden, back to free idling state again. Is this what you mean?

For my case with persona, when accelerate again, I would say the response is not instantaneous, i feel lembik and the rpm rise to 3.5k again, but then that time your engine speed already reduce, engine rev high but speed not catching up. This means transmission not efficiency, power loss during the acceleration.

I don't like this, I was hoping and prefer the behavior of mazda 3. In this case, your engine remain the torque and reduce slowly and what you get is immediate pickup if you accelerate again. But hardly rev till 3.5k rpm, because it likes to up shift asap and rarely stays at high rpm.
*Edit:
Scenario 2: You speed at highway and rev till 3.5k rpm with 6th gear, release pedal and hoping it to back to +- 1k rpm immediately? Never try this, LOL.. 
But still apply to Persona, rpm drop to +- 1k when release pedal. The feel is like the car just rolling instead of keeping the rev so high.

So question to you, in what scenario your rev till 3.5k, and release pedal? I dont think when cruising or city drive you would able to do that unless you using manual mode and stays at the same gear.  Imagine you are doing spirited driving, you rev high, and attacking corner. You release the pedal and rpm drops quickly? Nope, I wouldn't want this, not fun and spoils the atmosphere.

Not sure should I relate this to our Skyactiv transmission or not, once full lock up on the gear, it won't give the expectation like yours, rpm drops quickly as like it is in free idling state.

You use paddle shift means you engage manual mode. It is called manual mode for a reason, meaning, the computer won't do the job for you until you input what you want. It applies to recent models of mercedes and bmw also which i test drove before.

It will last about 5 seconds. If you reached the speed or complete your maneuver, upshift manually to lower down the engine RPM. There's nothing wrong with the car at all. If you think it is not fast enough, do it with the gear shifter, that one very direct the moment you push out of manual mode.
Why do you want remaining engine oil back? They all pour exact amount (5L) into the oil sump after draining. They already give you free engine oil, some more want to ask more??

If you want your old engine oil back, please tell them so, but very unlikely they will allow you as it is messy and well go against their SOP and 5S procedure. Service centres (even neighbourhood workshops) will use a giant oil catch tank when they drain out the oil so in the end of the day, they can drain out that tank to recycle vendor.

Unless you're into used oil analysis (which is extremely rare for normal motorist here and i can quite confidently say in this region other than large commercial fleet companies), there's no point for you keeping the old oil. If you die die want to have the old oil, the service technician can simply just pump the oil from the oil catch tank and give it to you, which already mix with maybe 20 cars/trucks worth of used oil. No way to ascertain that used oil is the one drained from your car.

*correction : for outside workshop, most likely you can witness them do the service on your car. So less risk of them skipping your car's servicing unless you're away.

And how are you going to dispose it properly? The SC/workshops at least will liase with those oil recycling vendor to collect.

If really cannot trust the service centre, then either you request you be present to witness when they service your car (which they most likely won't allow) or do service DIY style on your own (not outside workshop as the same situation stated above applies).

It's the program. When you drive aggressively, the gearbox will hold the lower gear for a while longer after you lift so that you have immediate power when you put your foot down again.

You might also have noticed the car doesn't shift up as eagerly when you're in the middle of a turn. This is to avoid upsetting the balance of the car through the turn.

for warranty claim, they might need to send the old parts back to HQ for claims, not sure about engine oil but you can try to ask for it

maybe their reset is ecu reset by unplug your battery for 10 mins then connect back, all the engine and transmission settings will be reset to default and let them learn again
