Anyone tried the android castscreen (mirroring the phone via usb cable) tweak? From the mazda3revolution.com forum.

I've not tested the android castscreen from AIO V1.41.

However, I've the opportunity to test the screen mirroring from Mazda Media Player v0.3.1 (Mazda Media Player). It works on my ride.

Follow or its all detailed in first page Liao?

Any thing to look out for? Mistakes that might be made due to unclear instructions for example?

I've tried that before and it works for me too.
But because it needs the wifi hotspot from phone, it was rather tedious to set it up, and wasn't as stable either. Also drained a lot of phone battery because of the hotspot.

That's why I might try out the castscreen instead.

I see. As for myself I intend to try out Android Auto next.

im due for 1k service in 3 weeks. we just go there and ask them to upgrade the version?
*
I've yet to upgrade my FW and intend to do so in my next service.

My understanding is that the MZD Connect system software is covered under the service.

Will be good to hear from seniors in this forum on their experience.

Not sure. Best is to call first.

I've yet to update my FW and my ride is still under the free maintenance. Hence, I don't expect a fee involved.

The link for the Android app for Castscreen does not work. The one at Mazda3Revolution also doesn't work (same link). Can someone point me to a usable link to get the Android app?

Thanks.

Hi, I've just tested the links. All working fine.

Try just clicking on the link provided and not opening it as a separate tab.

Hi, are you on 56.00.XXX firmware?

This app only works with firmware below 56.00.XXX. You'll require to do some tweaking in order to work with the latest firmware.

Easiest way is to make use of AIO V1.43. You'll find an alternative media player here that works with the latest firmware.

Hope this helps.

There are 3 ways :

The known way :
Get a new fresh battery and plug it in (actually, any other car battery other than the current one whether new or old). The ECU/PCM will recognise that and will show up as a "fault code" with the orange istop indicator constantly on. There's a process of setting for the ECU/PCM required everytime there's a change of battery.

See their official manual here : https://euroesi.mazda.co.jp/esicont/eu_eng/...17h5800900.html

The unsure way :
Unplug the battery terminal and wait for 15 minutes or more. Maybe everything will reset and the possible issue i stated above may happen.

The "maybe" way :
Go to Mazda and ask the technician whether they know how to disable using their Mazdaedit software.

I knew a driver that placed a small bracket at the side of the button. It triggers to deactivate the istop when starting the car. Kind of like you holding it down to deactivate the istop function.
