hi, i have a nikon D50 and the 18-200 vr lense.
recently when i tried to use the cam, i notice that the camera doesnt auto focus anymore. what could be the problem?

ive checked everything(including if the can and lense is set to manual focus) and it still doesnt autofocus.

can some1 help? or im $#@$ed? im trying to aviod to go tru warranty as i bought the lense in m`sia and im now in london....

ok ive determined that my SW motor on the lense is dead as i tried it out in another cam.

how do i go about the warranty? the warranty card is in m`sia and im in the uk. from what i was told, it has the 1 yr international warranty, so do i need to do anything to claim the warranty? or just send the lense + warranty card to nikon UK and get them to fix it?

if so happens that the warranty is only valid for m`sia, what do i need to do? send it to nikon m`sia + warranty card and they fix?

do i need to register the lense or something? coz i didnt do anything when i bought the lense, i just poped in the lense and started using.

sorry if this is a incredibly lame/stupid question, its my first time using DSLR and claiming warranty for the first time (i was pretty lulcky with electronics until now where nothing have yet to break down within warranty period)

What are the symptoms?
Does the lens attempts to autofocus at all but instead hunts in and out and never finds the focal plane?
Or totally no movement?

no the thing is it doesnt event hunts. its like > press 1/2 shutter > nothing happens.

if i attach flashgun, the gun's laser stays on longer than the usual 1 sec or so and the lense dont focus(as explained above)
