Some new laptops come with smart battery charging nowadays.
For e.g. our S and D series come equipped with battery engine like this

Most welcome.
I see Prince_J has replied to you about the battery. About the part of dGPU and iGPU and Optimus, the way I understand, a lot of games these days aren't build with proper Optimus support. Optimus won't die for the low end laptops, but proper gaming laptops shouldn't have Optimus hardwired (as in forced Optimus) and Illegear's decision to have newer models that disables / discards Optimus is certainly a very, very good move. Too bad I bought my machine 1 year too early. LOL
I don't know about the current trend about the gaming laptops (i don't own one yet) but looking at budget level newer laptops, option to disable / enable Optimus (aka switch to use iGPU / dPGU / both GPU ) in BIOS seems to not available nowadaysI see Prince_J has replied to you about the battery. That option seems to be transferred to / handled by Nvidia Control Panel which is available only in Windows drivers
For Linux (as of 2016),
Nvidia provides Nvidia X Config bundled with Linux drivers but it "still" does not include support to handle Optimus which is a pain
Although there is Bumblebee that able to handle the switching option but I need more than that...
If Illegear do have that option under BIOS, that is always welcome...
Currently I don't know Illegear have that option, mind if I ask Prince J that Illegear's laptops' BIOS got that?
Seems that computers manufacturers are more favouring towards Windows these days, even more with Windows 10 /.\
