Thanks for the feedback.

Just to update, as of 7pm today, I received notification that my order is processed. However, the dispatch date is 18 Feb, seems the item will be sent from the Great Britain warehouse.

Gonna email them tommorow for more clarification though.

What item you buy ? Cannot get it locally ? Why do you need to send from Great Britain? Won't it be super expensive?

1. Their website is made of fail and AIDS
2. Pretty much
3. It's ok

PROTIP: Their shit is so overpriced and their selection is so bad I usually just buy stuff from Mouser/Digikey or *gasp* Allied and have it FEDEXed over to Malaysia.

Every SMD item arrive in it's own envelope, it's own paper bag ... buy 1 QFN IC will arrive in the standard chip container followed by ESD bag followed by paper bag followed by it's own box. Their replacement order also quite efficient , I once ordered a current sensor ic to test, they send the wrong thing, after i take picture and liaise with their support email they redeliver the item within 3 days.

But they like to send each item separately la. So imagine you order 5-6 component, every day u will receive 1 envelope for each component ...

Normally you can check if the stock is available locally or not. If not, they will arrange the item sent from anywhere within their network. Looks like in this case, the item you ordered not in local stock. I think you can asked for cancellation if you cannot wait.

Yup, its GDex. I emailed them this morning, very fast reply. My item sent out from UK, will reach within 4-6 working days, using GDex. They even gave me a tracking number. The date provided was an estimate of the arrival, may arrive early though. thumbup.gif

Just to update everyone,

I'm happy to report that the experience of ordering from RS is good.

1) very fast response to emails, same day response (if working day/ office hours)

2) delivery is as stated in order page: in my case (in stock for delivery within 4 working days), I ordered on Tuesday and received the item on Friday. My item shipped from UK warehouse some more.

3) the delivery company used is GDex.

4) pricing wise, some items are cheaper than others (eg. element14, Mouser, Digikey etc.) but some are more expensive. Some items require MOQ of 5 or more compared to other sites which offer MOQ 1 only.

5) best of all, free delivery for all online orders regardless of how much you order.

That sums up my experience in ordering from RS Online.

And thanks to all who helped answer my questions here. thumbup.gif
