They are called modifier keys. As a matter of fact its right inside your
System Prefs > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Tab > Modifier Keys

The missing key from this list will the shift key. Shift key looks like the arrow in the "Close Window" command below

Not work as in? Certain shortcuts need certain conditions to activate

you know... you can actually set.. erm.. programme your Mac to execute commands by shouting at it. laugh.gif just make sure you have your own private room when you do it... wouldn't want your colleagues to think that you've gone nuts now do we?

short cut key conflict with the os, you might want to change the hide dock shortcut in system prefs>keyboard & mouse

OR change the feather shortcut key in photoshop

crt screen burn, the phosphor layer in the crt is wearing out, you might want to change the monitor (i this case the emac itself is the monitor rite? so means you need to change the whole comp i think,) blink.gif

1.5k is the price of a new lcd monitor, repair or change/add new monitor? lol
well i nvr heard of chips causing the monitor (graphics chip perhaps?, processor no way) to be blur. mostly I've seen blurs because the screen is switched on for a long period of time with the same image on screen
leaves sort of a image (opacity like 20%) on screen eventually it will blur out making the screen muddy
