Lotsa people seems to be having problems but FB here seems ok. Loading as usual, videos auto-playing fairly quickly.

Don't think it supports VLAN so won't work as a router for UniFi.

If got sticker, should be OK. Can always verify by checking the manual for VLAN settings.

recently upgraded my plan from 5mbps to 30mbps but whenever i run speedtest it only reaches 20mbps. Just wondering is anyone having this problem as well?

What router are you using? Test with wifi or cable? If you're not too far away, even stock UniFi router can give 30mbps.

I'm using wifi and the router is just right next to me
Using wifi and staying in high rise bro

Is it the Dlink DIR-615? This one the throughput for wifi not so good. Current stock TM router like the RG4332 30mbps wifi no probs.

Can you also test with cable?

Maybe you can complain to TM and see if they can replace the router for you. When you upgrade to Adv30, your router is renewed with 1 year warranty. I think they should replace it for you. If not you can always sabotage the router.

Btw, is it so difficult for you to type the model of your router in reply to my question?

This is how I got TM to change my STB from the original wifi-less one to the new white one. This was done right after I upgraded to Adv30.

I put in just enough firewall rules in the router to max out its CPU when both the internet and HyppTV is running at full speed. 30mbps & 8mbps respectively.

What happens is that when I do a speedtest or when I'm downloading at max speed, HyppTV HD channels will start to stutter and pixelate. Then I complained about that to 100. Some techs came to check. The 'problem' is reproducible anytime. According to the techs, it's the first time they've seen this problem. Eventually after some testing, they offered to replace both the STB and the BTU. I just took the STB.

I'm sure one can do a similar thing to simulate a router problem.

Or you can just zap it with electricity to simulate a lightning strike.

Hi guys!

Am new to the unifi scene but currently facing problem with the provided router. it seems to be unstable with the wireless connection. Here goes the question, can I make it into a bridge mode and use Xiaomi router as my access point for it?

Currently Unifi modem is RG WBR 2300.

Thanks for the help in advance.
*
For using as an access point just plug your Xiaomi into one of the ethernet ports on your router. Turn off the wifi on the RG. Configure your Xiaomi's wifi. Thats it. No need bridge mode or anything like that.

Check out the number of SSH attempts on my router. As some of you have encountered, TM was blocking SSH port but I guess currently they're too busy with rerouting around the submarine cable problem.

One here. Using Mikrotik RB2011UAS-2HnD. Neighbour using Asus RT-N12-D1. My auntie is using RB951G-2HnD. One uncle is using RB751U-2HnD and one is using RB951Ui-2HnD. The other relatives still on stock TM routers. Most friends on Mikrotik, TP-Link or Asus.

I requested for mine to be placed at the upstairs back room of my DS terrace house instead of the standard installation of having the modem & router in the living room. The installers said TM will charge RM300 for non-standard installation but in the end I paid RM100 straight to their pocket. It was quite obvious that it's an easier job to install to the upstairs back room than to the living room.

where got such standard thing that have to install in living room

mine install at upstairs also without paying any single cent to TM contractor

if it is easier meaning the cable use is less, you do not need to pay extra without using extra cable smile.gif
*
Dunno, maybe I got scammed. They came and told me that they will install from the back lane to the living room. That's about 60ft and through 4 walls. Then I said why don't I make it easier for you guys and just install to the upstairs back room. About 10ft at most and just 1 wall to drill but have to climb up one floor. That's when they told me about the RM300 charge. Haggle a bit and they settle for an unofficial RM100.

Can someone recommend a good and stable wireless router? Budget 300-400. Mainly used by 4 wifi devices plus 2 LAN connections.

I think 30mbps is too much for TM's router and its not really stable. Thanks!

Mikrotik RB951Ui-2HnD RM300. Very happy with Mikrotik routers.
