any recommendation for dual band ac routers below rm600 for home usage

only 1 LAN port will be used and 4-5 wifi users concurrently
*
Asus RT-AC55UHP if you do not mind the huge antenna.

any suggestion which router suit me? mine is double storey and sometime i having bandwidth discrepancies. We have multiple devies at home.

I recently compiled a Unifi router list with price and spec. Maybe it is helpful.
http://www.blacktubi.com/unifi-router/

I recommend the Asus RT-AC55UHP. Good signal and comes with Wireless AC ability. If your house is really big, add a powerline wireless extender. smile.gif

as my house area is full of wifi, will others wont interrupt my signal?
*
Interference is unavoidable but you can always use the least congested channel.

That's why I recommend getting a dual band router. 5Ghz is still very empty.

Thanks for the recommendation and the info on your site is remarkable. However, what other router(s) compatible with Unifi that outperforms the Asus RT-AC55UHP would you recommend? In terms of downloads handling (mainly torrents), file sharing & streaming (think NAS-like) and wifi coverage & performance. I mean, reasonably priced and besides top dogs such as the RT-AC88U. Alternatively, maybe you could rank them in order of real world performance?
Edit: It appears you've already done some form of "ranking" on your site... Now combing through, but still feel free to decline/respond to the above.
*
A lot of routers outperform RT-AC55UHP but they are either really expensive or do not come with downloading feature.

If you need Unifi compatibility and download ability, only Asus offers that kind of combination.

I recommend Wireless AC capable router for 50Mbps.

This is fine. smile.gif

Netgear also offers that, but price wise is a bit expensive
*
Netgear is difficult to buy in Malaysia and the Unifi support is uncertain so I rather not mention it. smile.gif

C-Zone has it and I'm using it myself and works without any hassle with unifi smile.gif

Best feature about it is you don't have to walk to the router to restart the router, you can just do it via the router page  biggrin.gif

EDIT : even Harvey Norman has it
*
Thanks for the feedback. I will amend my list soon.

I can restart almost all my modem and routers on the web interface. sweat.gif

May I know why is there another IP address located below local IP address? What is that IP address for?

*
The router try to obtain an IP from the ONU. Ignore it.

The throttled speed is 10Mbps. 10Mbps is pretty fast in Malaysia. laugh.gif

i am using tp-link c2600, bought on lelong rm700...9 devices connected to it...on more than 1 month alrd, no reboot required...i think tp-link ac1900 should same as well.
*
The Archer C2600 is a great router. There are some issues anyway. QoS will be disabled on Unifi mode.

Well actually they can counter and say the deployment cost is higher for landed units.
Actually, TM holds the record for the single highest fiber deployment in the world. If I remember correctly, it was 2,5xx homes per day.
*
Time give me a progressive and efficient impression. They actually follow up closely regarding their infrastructure deployment at my building.

Meanwhile TM is slow and maintain the tidak apa attitude.

just got my UniFi installed yday. replaced the stock router with TP-LINK WR841HP straight away brows.gif
but it seems that coverage still not as what I've expected, need a extender, any recommendations?

I dont need the HyppTV, how do I free up all the LAN port on the TP-LINK router, cos port 1 is reserved for IPTV right?
*
Get the TP-LINK repeater if you do not care about performance, it is cheap.

like Time 100Mbps + + +  biggrin.gif

just guess, must give UniFi pressure, BECAUSE if Maxis offer better speed, it means anyone on UniFi can switch to Maxis  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
*
If Maxis is able to undercut UniFi while riding on Unifi infrastructure, that will be interesting.

QUOTE(djhenry91 @ Mar 26 2016, 12:01 AM)
only problem is highrise...using VDSL2..max 30mbps
need pull fiber to each unit
*
TM currently uses FTTH for new high rise deployment. They are improving. smile.gif
