QUOTE(zweimmk @ Jun 9 2016, 05:12 PM) Sticker wrap, same effect Quite a few sticker wrapped ones on CivicX, but they look cheap compared to the original gloss black RS one. Plus sticker wrap also cost $$$. USD120 is doable for the original part. This post has been edited by GeekinE90: Jun 9 2016, 04:15 PM

QUOTE(Prop.Observer @ Jun 9 2016, 05:22 PM) What about the FC for CivicX in between 1.8 N/A and 1.5T? Somehow it seen somebody claimed 17.2 L/100km for 1.5T. How about 1.8 N/A? any FB or FD owner can enlighten me on this? Based on Paul Tan, HM quoted the following: 1.8 6.3 ltr/100km 1.5T 5.8 ltr/100km The 1.5T is more fuel efficient and much more powerful vs. the 1.8 NA

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Jun 9 2016, 05:23 PM) You ship the part in, it will cost USD120 not inclusive of freight charges, gst and whatever duties that may be imposed (30% for automotive parts). It should come to a total of RM1000 give or take a few, if not more. Using stickers from Motorsport Playground or Wraphauz will only cost like RM300 at best? And we're talking good quality 3M or Oracal stickers too. If HM brings in this part under AFTA from Thailand, the taxes should not hit 30%. Either ways, I will pay the few hundred bucks more for the original quality Honda part vs. the stickered look.

QUOTE(silentsunami @ Jun 9 2016, 05:30 PM) Wow...if compare to Langkawi price, base 1.8L in peninsular only cause 12K more for the selling price excluding GST. Langkawi PriceThis means HM got the EEV tax incentive status for the 10th Gen Civic. The top spec Civic in the US is also ~USD27,500 which has the additional sunroof and Honda sensing suite on top of our Premium Turbo. Based on current USD exchange rate, we are not too far off in terms of price, means the govt is not making as much tax dollars on each Civic sold.

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Jun 9 2016, 05:31 PM) Let's hope they bring it in then Actually, we also will need the bottom base grill as the current spec is matte black. So, price is USD220 for the complete set. Earlier listing of USD120 was only for the top part of the grill to replace the chrome bits. Below are the complete part numbers for the full set we will need for reference: A set contains. 1x Base Front grile 71121-TED-T01 1x Extension Assy R Front Grille 71124-TED-T01 1x Molding Front Grille 71125-TED-T01 1x Extension Assy L Front Grille 71129-TED-T01 1x H Emblem 75700-TBA-A00 http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-2016-Honda-Civ...=p2047675.l2557

QUOTE(wkc5657 @ Jun 10 2016, 02:27 PM) My family have a very recent mercedes, so does my next door neighbour have a 3 year old BMW, my opposite neighbour with Audi and new S Class but i don't here any fan or motor running after engine off....so.....what do you think Only when it's driven hard. The electric fan stays on even after ignition is cut and you lock the car and walk away. Hopefully Honda follows this engineering hack by the Germans.

QUOTE(Prop.Observer @ Jun 10 2016, 03:34 PM) Nice. Location pls. Is the 1.8 N/A available for test drive after JPJ registration ? My SA said that out of the 3 cars HM gave them for the NSE event this weekend, they will only use 1 car for test drive and the other 2 for showroom. Most dealers will have the 1.5T as the test drive car. This post has been edited by GeekinE90: Jun 10 2016, 02:48 PM

QUOTE(Area51SE @ Jun 11 2016, 05:41 PM) I think he's bench marking against the luxury brands such as Mercedes and BMW that's why he feels it looks cheap. Reason because I see him posting about buying a 1 Series or a A-Class in this forum The A class interior is plasticky. Civic has more soft touch materials in comparison. I find BMW interiors a bit boring even for the current 3 and 5. In terms of design both Merc and Audi is better. Audi has the nicest cabin among the 3 in terms of quality and a more retro + high tech feel especially on the new TT and B9 models. This post has been edited by GeekinE90: Jun 11 2016, 05:28 PM

QUOTE(Jeffreynsx @ Jun 11 2016, 06:32 PM) BMW 3 series is okay in my opinion. Great power, decent quality and great handling. I'm satisfied for it. Yes they are ok. Bmws used to be the only one that stirs the soul but these days it's lost ground to Mercedes in that department. Even the benchmark 3 series today has the heaviest chassis vs it's rivals - W205 and B9. Engineering the chassis or Body in White is the most expensive part for a manufacturer and many reuse and rehash the chassis for new models. F30 is an example which carried over from the E90. Both W205 and B9 are the latest in technological advancement. Stiffer and much lighter. I believe Audi now leads in the weight race but Merc is close 2nd.

QUOTE(jack bauer @ Jun 13 2016, 12:32 PM) What is the reason if one want to take up the civic with the Navigation option? Especially those who most of time Waze is the preferred choice. The LED headlights is the main reason. So far no one has successfully retrofitted the LED unit to a halogen spec unit. It's too complicated and costly requiring control module and wire harness swap as well.

Yes, the Civic has more rear legroom vs. the F10 5 series. http://www.kbb.com/compare-cars/specs/2016...-series-403171/

Cars will be delivered on 20th to the dealer at the branch I booked. They got allcation of 25 cars a mix of spec and colors. White is the most popular so white bookings are likely to have later delivery dates.
Apparently many have booked but are struggling to get loans approved due to tighter bank aporovals so the cars are going out to others with full docs/payment first.

QUOTE(l2k @ Jun 15 2016, 11:39 PM) 16.5 psi is only 1.14 bar which a lot of people here consider as soft turbo. I am pretty sure Vw 1.4tsi is pushing more than that. If not mistaken, somewhere 2 bar. It's a small turbo but I wouldn't classify it as a soft or low pressure turbo. Most LPTs run 6-8 psi max.

QUOTE(l2k @ Jun 16 2016, 08:52 AM) I won't say somehting without stuff to back me up. I am not familiar with VW engine, but I read in this article http://www.motoring.com.au/volkswagen-golf...incharger-2023/Quote from article : "Boosting intake pressure by up to 1.8 bar (26.5psi) in low-speed/high-load conditions, the supercharger is behind the engine’s formidable low-end grunt. At 3000 to 3500 engine rpm, the supercharger drive’s clutch disconnects and the by-pass intake tract diverts to the turbo which is by then on the pace for a seamless takeover of pressurising the ingoing air by up to 2.5 bar (over 36psi)." I assume one of the reason 1.4TSI can take more pressure is due to iron casted engine block. We shouldn't compare GTI here as it has 2000cc displacement. The VW 1.4 Twincharge engine is a special case as the Eaton made roots type SC is designed to provide very high boost at low RPMs (but inefficient for high RPM use) and it's turbo is a bigger turbo suitable for high RPM boost. VW has killed this wonderfully complex engine and reverted to more conventional turbo engine for the 1.4 ltr 4 banger.

QUOTE(l2k @ Jun 16 2016, 10:06 AM) Dude, maybe you should laern to follow the discussion and not making some completely out of place comment. I am discussing with dtna7 which he thinks this honda 1.5 turbo engine is boosting high pressure and may risk burning engine oil, i pointed out 16.5psi is not very high in relation to for example the famed VW 1.4TSI. As simple as that. Yes, 16.5psi is about right for modern day conventional turbo charging. But much higher than Light Pressure Turbo charging. For comparison sake, the F30 BMW 320i runs 8psi of boost while the more powerful F30 328i runs a peak boost of 18.9psi.
