Hi all, anyone can clarify about the drawback of having Turbo cars? My cousin just make me wonder as his Toyota Hilux 3.0 get wet (oil leaking) at the surrounding area of Turbo charger after 2 years ++ of using the vehicle. Hopefully, this will not happen to current Honda vehicle that equipped with Turbo's as their main selling point.
*
Turbo is a wear and tear part after all, couple with the fact that our fuel is not the best (potentially contaminating the engine oil, which in return causes damage to the turbo because the Turbo's cooling depends on that ), most of us skim on engine oil/maintenance, bad driving behavior etc.

And yes, the turbo performance starts to suffer as early as 120k, and will need a change early as 200k

To clear up the issue, you may combine A and B into one service, but you may not skip the B. (B is the important one)

Anyway, the system is there to advise you for service based on driving/usage. I will leave the doubts of SC simply want to have you do more service to those who wanna debate it. Those who booked their car, your SA will explain to you in detail.
P/S: Bonus, the Civic X alarm system comes with a tilt sensor. Not sure how it could help.

aka when the car get towed when armed, the alarm will go off lor

Don't you think this is a tad childish? Just cuz someone raises a negative comment about something you come up with the 'don't buy it' line?

Come on. This is a forum where both positive and negative comments are welcome and debated in a mature manner.

So I took annual leave this morning
Went to the nearest Honda showroom to take a look
(only one of the above statement is true brows.gif)

Only the 1.8l was on display as the 1.5T was at the main branch and will only be moved to this branch next week.

Looked around, touched here touched there, start engine, had the SA demonstrate remote engine start, asked about bodykits (official Modulo full set is around RM4.6k)

My first impression, at circa 120k, the 1.8l is very good value for money. Unsurprisingly no test drive available, have to wait til next week when the 1.5T comes to this branch. The fully digital meter cluster is impressive, but seemed kinda out of place for an economy compact car, hopefully it is durable.

official pricing STILL NOT AVAILABLE  bangwall.gif

Before they allow you to drive out the vehicle, they will ask you to sign the collection form. As a result, they won't bother the rest of the issue. For rattling sound and abnormal behavior to the vehicle, need to wait for 1,000 km service. If they allow you to do so, then it is good to inspect this part as well.

The area behind the door handle gets most if not all of its scratches from air vortices during car movement carrying dust and sand particles, not from fingernail scratches.

Seriously, what is the point if you drive a sedan vehicle with so many HP or psi? On the road, safety comes first and not speed. Or else speeding ticket will awaits you along the way + put other road users lives in your hand.

I think there's nothing to worry about when there is a set maintenance program and warranty coverage for the new car. As long as the owner religiously follows the schedule it should be fine. That being said, the maintenance costs of running a turbocharged car should be marginally higher.
*
Just don't forget that turbo is a wear and tear part, were a rebuild is needed after some period of usage. laugh.gif

Shame on you. SHAME.

On top of that, the people who give comment above are the real collector of information. Perhaps this person have the highest risk to cause issues on the thread.

And we're talking about an established car manufacturer here. This isn't Proton or some other rubbish manufacturer. This is Honda. The Japs are well known for their attention to detail. Their cars are not the best spec'd or best in safety compared to the Europeans but they have excelled in 1 aspect and that is QUALITY & DURABILITY.
