Hi there. So I got a new ssd, and I installed windows on it through bootable usb.
When it finish installing , it rebooted once to the splash screen with "getting ready" then rebooted again to the same splash screen but its been loading for about 2 hours now.
I remember it didn't take that long to install windows 10.
Hope sifus can provide me with insight to this. Thanks.

Are you using UEFI or BIOS?
If UEFI, you need to prepare the Windows 10 installer using GPT formatted pendrive, not MBR

If you're using a laptop, state the exact model number
If you're using a desktop PC, state the motherboard model

I'm using UEFI. I just converted my ssd to gpt and testing it now. Do I have to format the usb as well? And also I'm using gigabyte h170 hd3. Not really familiar with its bios so not sure how to boot to legacy.

Ok I will try remaking the bootable device.
Update: I checked the srttrail.txt that logs the startup repair, and it says that it is unable to repair with the root cause of boot status indicates that the OS booted successfully.
Now I'm confused.

weird stuff. what ssd is this? normally it only take under about 10 minutes to do a clean install on a sata ssd with usb installer. check your ssd if it's connected to intel ports, and bios is set to ahci for sata operations.

btw, to create the usb installer for uefi mode is easy:
1. format the usb stick with fat32;
2. extract the contents of iso file directly into the stick (using 7zip or winrar).

that's it. also make sure the bios settings are set for uefi boot; and make sure the ssd is a gpt disk.

Try this, and pay attention to step 13 and follow it correctly.

Also, try updating your BIOS for the motherboard and enable any Windows 10 compatibility settings in it.

Thanks for all the replies. Was unable to get uefi working, so I booted legacy instead.
