Yes. I have consult him from time to time. Some reits giving me 6-8% p.a return. Sg FD is just to act as buffer investment and as contingency fund.

Please la. If I am rich, for what I save? sweat.gif I have lots of friends who don't have any savings. They finished up all their monthly allowance. It's easy to finish your money. Eat at fancy restaurant 4-5x/month, buy H&M clothing every month. I buy pakar malam clothes only and eat mixed rice.
Not true. Teller trying to win Oscar. I always topup at cimb first. If not lucky at cimb, then I will go to Maybank.

Cannot be too save. Must treat yourself good also.

Else u can see appreciation on paper only and cannot use them.

Although I am still a student, but if you are able to reach my level of spending, you will see that there's nothing else you want to buy/treat yourself and you are able to resist the temptations.

Fancy food at restaurants/hotel? All turn into poop and long term wise bad for health.
Smokiing and drinking? Why would I want to put toxic into my body?
Buying branded clothes?  I compare the one sold in pasar malam and the branded one. Can't tell the differences.
Buying new phone? Get Kick for short while then the phone is same. For every RM1k I save. I can earn Rm60+ from ASX FP.
Car? For what I want to pay so much for something which deprecated in value?
House? If I have the money. House is too damn expensive.
Vocation?  Haven't been on one. But planning to.

So as you can see, I have nothing to spend on.
So what to do? Put it aside in amanah saham

Of coz now u can cut to max as everything is provided by parents. Wish i can be like you smile.gif

I doubt there'll be any preferential treatment, it's too resource consuming. It's either everyone gets reinvest or everyone gets paid by cheque.

One thing's for sure, given BNM's stance on cheques, I'd go and update my bank account details in ASNB's system because if this trend set by SC continues, dividend payments would be made via bank transfer!

How to update bank details with asx ?

There is a bond fund that consistently pay above 6%-7%, for the last 10 years without fail. Do some homework at Morningstar, you will find it.
Can invest as low as 1k
*
Msia bond ? Can share some on these bond ? FSM SG offers abt 5% for retail bond of Sgd1k. I m not sure for Msia bond.
