I'm experiencing the same thing on Windows via Bootcamp. More heat and battery consumption. Then I realised I dont really need Windows, so I dumped the whole Windows thing, hehe..
Would consider Parallels instead, I think they are having promotion also.

i remembered when i was using bootcamp on my macbook, the battery life is VERY short compared to using OS X....
i think it's because it generates a lot of heat as the proc is running at full speed....unlike in OS X when it determines how much processing power u need...
i might be wrong though...

Well, since you're using a MacBook Pro which runs an ATI card. You can use ATItool to change the clockspeed of your gfx card.

Tried it but dun really noe how to adjust. The default speed is juz 80++/80++. But it can be tuned till bout 1000. I scared i will spoil the card by simply adjusting.

Adjusting a card's clockspeed won't damage it in any way, it will only freeze up your machine at most. If you're affraid of adjusting, you can do it in small steps i.e. increasing or decreasing slowly (say, 10mhz or 20mhz in difference each time you adjust.)
