Sooner or later I'll meet someone who will challenge me by trying to use my unanswered prayers to prove that God is false. Been through those. Want to be prepared to answer.
*
It's not really a good idea to explain God via answered or unanswered prayers, unbelievers would not understand.

Unanswered prayer doesn't mean God doesn't exist.

It can mean there is delay because of spiritual warfare, or that God has placed it at the right timing when it will be delivered, so there is a waiting period or

It can also mean God closes prayers that will not be good for you. These specifics are meant for the understanding between believers, not unbelievers.

His existence towards unbelievers can best be explained through his involvement in your life for example in areas where you're unable to handle and yet, that has changed.

My example would be fear of the future. I used to be afraid of..what about world economy? Now is the great depression time. Anything can happen..etc etc etc.

With God, all that fear dissipates because God has been Faithful to take care of me..financially.

For you, it may something else.

I think I do.

He has issues in his life, maybe problems at work or home...what he does is, he takes it out on forum members by bashing them online.

Of course he'll deny this..but I've been through life to know this sort of people.

UW, are you saying that because some people with their unanswered prayers, that they lacked faith or they don't pray enough?

Or that they lacked in what is written in Matthew 17:20?

I've encountered these before and let me tell you that its common that a lot of prayers aren't unanswered. This doesn't mean that we should stop believing in God.

Some poor souls stopped believing in God because to them God didn't answer their prayers.
*
Usually stem from lack of revelation of who God is.

We always hear the term...... God is a Good God....in church right?

But for some...God is a mystery.

When you don't know the person well enough...you won't really trust that person....same principal with God.

http://www.desiringgod.org/articles/do-you...e-a-nonbeliever

After reading this article, I began to examine how I used to pray, and how I pray now.

I used to only ask God for earthly blessings - financial security, good health etc. But as I progressed in my walk with God, became closer to Him and knew Him better, I realize that I also began to pray for spiritual things.

For example, when I'm praying for someone who is sick, I pray not only for healing, but also that God will reveal Himself by comforting and showing that person that He cares.

God is not the giver, He is the gift.

I admit that I feel like a newbie Christian, but I was enlightened and encouraged by this article. So, I decided to share so that you guys will be encouraged in your prayer life as well.

God bless. biggrin.gif

Yes, Our Heavenly Abba is concern for both aspect, our Spiritual and Earthly needs.

We are here to break every misconception or bondages that has caused many believers to hold back in believing greatly in God.

Peace Sis. icon_rolleyes.gif

ps: As I can see the attacks from others, all the more it confirms this ministry. smile.gif

I know they don't understand and it's not a good idea to explain via unanswered prayers. That's exactly why people attack with that tactic you know rclxub.gif. It's a spot they know they'll win. Cheap emotional insult.
They most likely also feel betrayed at some point and just, shoving their worldview on me because I didn't give up like they did.

Like if I say God is good and He heals, then they'll go 'if God is good why you are still sickly?'. Then they feel veli proudingz that I can't fight back.

When that happens I feel very angry and upset to the point of tears. It's very painful. Shameful even. It's the kind of attack that plants very deep doubt. They want me to agree with their worldview and join their anger against Jesus. Say He penipuscammer.

Of course for certain God is not at fault and I am aware that's very twisted psychological manipulation. That's why I'm asking for experienced people like you, pehkay and a few others on the forum on how to deal with attacks like these.
*
When it comes to God, Your Life is not bound to the views of unbelievers, Sophiera, regardless who is it, even from Family members.

As long as you know that they don't understand, You don't need opinions of other people to win or lose in any argument.

I know it hurts when people mock you but if you understand that they don't have the same spirit as you have, you should be in the mindset of "Father forgive them for they understand not".

The people of this world can never understand the things of God unless God gives him/her the revelation. You can explain all you want, they'll just go "duh".

Beside..there's a principal in the Bible for refusing to get into refuting mockers in Proverbs 9:7-9

7 Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults;
whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse.

8 Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you;
rebuke the wise and they will love you.

9 Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still;
teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

What proverbs above is saying is; stay clear of trying to argue with mockers..if they don't understand then they won't.

Trying to win them over in argument, would mean we are one being foolish in trying. Just leave them be and keep your eyes on Jesus and WHAT HE THINKS OF YOU. smile.gif

And to answer you why we can get sick...It's obvious, we are still in our fallen physical body. But that doesn't mean God cannot touch the physical, you just need to get your intellect in agreement with your spirit.

That will allow Healing that's already there to flow through from God's spirit in you to the physical you. That agreement = Faith.

Digest this slowly.

Bro, this is Christian Fellowship Thread.

It's meant for Christians to fellowship, not the place for arguments with a Non Believer.

Hope you don't mind not to tag trouble makers like that megatron fella who should realize he is out of his place.

He comes in 1 more time I will not hesitate to report "trouble makers".

Thanks.

Why are you looking towards Christians to help you in something that's contradictory to our Faith?

I think you're really one confuse fella.

Or do you want us to pray for God to help you get back your AMA, lol.

Because if people are free to choose to believe in Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity, why are they not free to choose to be atheists?

Aren't people free to choose what they want to believe or disbelieve? By taking down my AMA thread, that doesn't help with the "free will"part.
*
You don't need a thread to tell people that they have free will, it's common sense.

People have been acting on their own will since the beginning of time, without your involvement or before you were even born.

Then would you help me get the AMA topic back up so that people have a chance to exercise their free will to choose what to believe or to disbelieve?
*
No, because you're asking me to do something that I don't subscribe to.

It's like I don't believe in suicide but you're asking to me to open up a help center to get people to commit suicide.

Besides, there's already an Atheist Thread, why? You don't think that's good enough to satisfy you?

You get me wrong. It's not about satisfying anything.

The reason why I started the AMA thread is to reach out to people who may have questions on how I become an atheists, so that they will understand what atheism also means in my perspective as an ex-Christian.
*
lol, the senior Atheist members who are here way before u are sure going to be sorely disappointed to find out their thread is not good enough to cater your AMA.

lol kek.

Common lah that thread is enough, don't need so many threads.

laugh.gif you agree?

oh boy, I pity the Atheist thread.

U sure it's not about regaining your pride?

Some people can't take it when Mods close their thread.

I've seen that happened so many times in this forum.

Anyway, I can't help you there but if you want to ask something about Christianity..that perhaps we can.

But pls I don't want another round of arguments. U vs Us thing.

My goodness. Personal attacks now.

I was asking for help, and all I get is ridicule?

Which part of my personal life about the AMA that you guys did not understand that it is important to me in my life that has absolutely nothing to do with pride?

Was I wrong that Christians are actually kind, helpful folk?
*
Kind and helpful to promote Godlessness and you're asking that sort of help from Christians?

I think you need to sit down and rethink if you actually comprehend what you're asking.

If you have checked my previous reply to you, it is to promote FREE WILL. It is not a thread to force people to leave their religion, but an avenue for other people who wishes to know more about atheism.

You can't force people to only know about religion and nothing else.

The fact that even my AMA thread was taken down is an act of coercion, to remove the avenue of choice altogether.
*
And what makes your thread different and special from LYN Official Atheist & Agnostic thread that you think taking down yours is discrimination?

Can't you post your AMA there?

Isn't this reflecting pride?

Sorry I just had to ask.
