I just throw away the boxes, if I buy online I'll ask them to chuck the box and just sent the bags and instructions.

Yup, this will ensure the shipping cost much much cheaper. But normally from ebay i don't have the option. from BrickLink yes.

eh bro, not here to argue...i am trying to figure out what you meant, you obviously have more experience than me...
i suggested the idea to buy overseas because someone asked if there's any stock in msia, and accounting for the transporting costs (i never said without additional costs)

i think what i am comparing here is...buying in msia vs buying online and shipping over which one is cheaper + easier ?
*
that i have no idea, didnt go work out the cost but my guess is it will be more expensive than buying here at retail price. that is why im ok to buy from scapler or re-seller if its within 10-20% markup if its a rare set. so GBHQ at RM2k should be a good deal if its from re-seller.

Ebay also usually no issues. Just contact the seller and let him know. They can keep the box and since they're sellers they can sell that box later on. So they're quite happy with the arrangements.

To be honest, Lego boxes are just too big to even display. Best to just run them through the shredder or sell em off (Bricklink mostly). But if it's not limited, or out of print it's a waste of time. So if you have a lot of space at home, I guess you could just store em flat away somewhere.

For this car model, it seems like when i put the figure in the car, the windshield doesn't seem to fit snugly as the helmet is touching the top of the windshield.

Do ypu have this problem too?

for me..i would like to keep the box intact...but if the price difference is like rm200-300 between msia price and usa price...then i would sacrifice the box and ask someone to help carry back the bricks + instructions only

i am not gonna pay rm200-300 just for a box...

It's simple because Malaysian mentality need MISB. I find very less people don't give a damm about the box condition. I both VW and Millenium Falcon from ebay, far cheaper than inflated scalper price and almost lower then RRP. But the box a bit dented due to shipments. It's still ok since we are going to fix it and throw the box
*
Ditto, both my Tower Bridge & Mini Modulars are dented box which I am fine with it so long as the packs inside are sealed.

Me too will dispose the box once bricked. Only still have my Tumbler & 4x4 Crawler box with me.

Not an option when you're trying to stuff several big sets into luggage. Plus boxes mean nothing to me, regardless of the price of the set. It's the stuff inside that I care about drool.gif
