QUOTE(nazrul90 @ Apr 22 2016, 02:13 AM) I'm in for HG 1/144 Gundam The Origin MSD Series Gundam.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Really hope that they will come out with Rx78-2 prototype origin. MG Psycho Zaku Ver ka is announced but still no image how it look like. But mostly can be pose with a stand with all the weapon pack behind. Just like Ex-S So far still no MG Char' Zaku 2 Origin.. May need to wait until last episode of origin only will appear. |

QUOTE(batmang @ Apr 22 2016, 10:00 AM) Hello all. I recommend thisWould like to check with you where is the best place to buy mr.hobby top coat flat spray can? How many MG can 1 can of spray last? Plan to spray 2 rg 2 mg and 1 PG. But i am totally new in this. So i dont plan to get an air brush set. Where is the best place i can buy this? I like the tamiya x11 silver too. Better get a small bottle and use hand brush? https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2438253 Depends on how you spray. If you spray after assemble then it'll last longer. If you spray part by part then it'll quickly empty. This post has been edited by xein: Apr 22 2016, 10:20 AM |

QUOTE(batmang @ Apr 22 2016, 10:26 AM) Hi. Thank you for your recommendation. No...Do you mean it is better to get a cheap air brush set offered in the thread? I saw around rm2xx for an entry level set. He also sells those surfacer spray and paints you are searching for. Maybe you should discuss here what you are planning to do. That way we can help recommend better methods and equipments before you do trail and error. |

QUOTE(batmang @ Apr 22 2016, 10:49 AM) Ah. Sorry. Actually, i meant what model are you doing?Let me detail it down. Im just an amateur part timer for gunpla (started 10 years ago. But just snapbuild. Did not even use decal sticker or panel lining). Now i would like to try to trim the nub nicely, use decal sticker, some metalic paint on weapons and pipes ( minimum but to bring out the details), panel lining, and then seal it in with Flat Top Coat. Basically doing everything i can, except going the airbrush path( as i have too little backlog kit to justify that). Oh, well... I'm guessing here that you are asking on a general level rather than a specialized level. If the surface you are painting is large, use spray can. If the surface is small, either airbrush or hand brush. If you are doing color tones, use airbrush. If you are doing small patterns or small touch up, hand brush. Really depend on the model you are painting and what you want to do. So tell us what is your current or planned project model. |

QUOTE(batmang @ Apr 22 2016, 11:22 AM) Ah. Sorry. Let me be specific No problem there.Rg zeta rg rx78. Mg Sazabi ver ka PG strike. RG has been assembled. The other 2 still in box. Plan to use metalic paint on small spot like pipes and weapons or small opening. Currently using tamiya marker. But planning to buy tamiya bottled paint and brush to hand brush for better effect. Some small opening hard for marker pen to cover nicely. Place decal sticker. Spray a top coat to make it look nice/cover nub mark/seemline. You are just doing some small color enhancement, not painting the whole model, right? The only thing that i think you'll need to look out for is parts that moves overlap others especially on transformable models like zeta. I think you are already good to go. |

QUOTE(batmang @ Apr 22 2016, 10:26 AM) Hi. Thank you for your recommendation. Top up a bit a get better airbrush, beginner set is always prone to break easily, no autostop function that will make the motor overheat,Do you mean it is better to get a cheap air brush set offered in the thread? I saw around rm2xx for an entry level set. however there is beginner set that has autostop function like this http://www.lelong.com.my/gundam-model-tool...7-01-Sale-I.htm but better take this, got air tank and can adjust the pressure, price different is not much big http://www.lelong.com.my/airbrush-compress...7-03-Sale-P.htm http://www.lelong.com.my/airbrush-compress...7-01-Sale-I.htm ^I using this one, smaller and lighter, and can last longer |

QUOTE(cicaques @ Apr 22 2016, 11:36 AM) The price is at retail price but when i was there first day, they mention that the price is all before 40% off. After the discount the price is quite ok. Can't compared to KL area but quite ok for that area. The main catch is still the promotion items which i'm not sure if it is still available. |

That's what I wanted to ask them about, but if there's no contact number I'm not going to bother going. I get close to those prices anyway normally. After the discount the price is quite ok. Can't compared to KL area but quite ok for that area. The main catch is still the promotion items which i'm not sure if it is still available. As for airbrushing, if you're looking to spend the money get a good one because the cheaper ones lack quality, precision and you'll find yourself buying another in a few short months if you're doing some serious work. QUOTE(batmang @ Apr 22 2016, 12:01 PM) I dunno, since you said you got smaller backlog, but doing partial painting is fun, you can enhance the kit appearance like spray gunmetal color on Sazabi Ka inner frame and leave other untouch or spray only the thrusters with metallic color |

You'll have to prime with the proper base, use the right metallic paint and it gets slightly more complicated if you're going to be shading as well (hell decide on which type you're comfortable with) and make sure you have the proper tools (airbrush, spray booth, mask, gloves, etc) and all that.Spray cans could be easier, but you'll still need some protection. Is the banshee without LED (rm700) promotion still available, they doesn't state how long is the promotion, only state 50 unit limit? After the discount the price is quite ok. Can't compared to KL area but quite ok for that area. The main catch is still the promotion items which i'm not sure if it is still available. |

QUOTE(TheEvilMan @ Apr 22 2016, 12:44 PM) Seriously dude. That RM 730 is considered cheaper than at release time back then due to current exchange rate.Note to all: POST Japan will be using a new shipping rate for ems starting june 2016. No info if it is cheaper or higher. Possibly higher. Source: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/ShippingCostChangeInfo.html |
