The gold plated frame of RG Sinanju is awesome, not all reinterpreted, some are 'side-gated' like the shield piece (not all spruce).

You probably looking at PU Foam. I got mine from shipping boxes. Don't mix up with those use to do sound insulation in studio, those cost a lot more.
If you want them free, visit furniture factory and ask for left over cut out from making sofa and bed insert.

It's gonna cost you a lot because those are usually in higher quality.

I made those some times ago and it was very messy. I tried foam cutter but it wasn't effective (in clean line). I still haven't found out the best home-made solution to cut the foam in high precision. Laser cutter is obviously a no-go.

I remember someone here pack his painted gunpla using toothpicks and polystyrene.

First layer polystyrene.
Put gunpla.
Stab toothpicks around gunpla.
Another layer of polystyrene.

Of course for MG, you might need to separate some parts and use polystyrene to divide or box them.

better buy light color ones because dark color has the possibility of staining unless you put wrappers between sponge & item.

i dunno, never check. but to put gundam you need quite thick foams never seen before.

you probably need to buy Block instead but not sure the dimension. try art friend.
