I find blu tac is more flexible and allows me to stick 4-5 pieces on a stick. Depending on the type of piece and painting method (airbrush/spray/handbrush), I just need to position the pieces differently.
good idea, i got some blutac lying around and recycle some sticks for painting

Paint part by part, not section by section.
Also double check before painting.
Crocodile clip is cheap, Rm3 for 10 sticks
yeah, i saw some online videos on painting, but then i dont want to get something that i may or may not use in the future thought it may not be expensive
noted, didnt check thoroughly enough which part that will be exposed, and a bit worried that i might paint some area too thick, and cant assemble properly
most probably will remove some of the part with not-so-satisfactory paint this weekend, and repaint them
maybe next month will experiment on pre-assembled kits that i have, space running low, so might experiment on some kits that i consider keeping in storage
and not to mention, gunpla kits pricing is really getting pricey
