55degrees on stock heatsink for prescott is normal la. laugh.gif
But try cleaing up the heatsink and apply a new layer of thermal paste, that'll help to reduce 3 - 5 degrees. smile.gif
IMO, 50degrees for HDD is pretty high, is there any fan infront of the HDD? hmm.gif

Nop...only until recent it's getting overheated..That's why I didnt bother getting another fan

Ya, that's high. My HDD WD 250Gb runs at 32'c, the other WD 80Gb runs at 37'c. On hot day with active HDD, WD 80Gb can go up to 41-42'C!

Mine is considered high, but urs is way too cool laugh.gif
