Zero or very minimal reception issues so far on my Note 5. Perhaps maxis 4G is just crazy strong where I move about in Penang island. hmm.gif

Yup I have came across that thread several times but haven't tried the basic list xml yet because scared that it will change the user experience on my phone due to debloating

Paid for Package Disabler Pro.. Much easier to use than the PC-based Debloater tool, loving it. biggrin.gif

Eh isn't the Malaysian s6 edge plus also a duos phone?

BTW was looking at the Samsung Malaysia web site for note 5 and saw that the user guide is for marshmallow.. Hmm wink.gif

Oh ya. This helps. I rmb. On my s6e, i switch to wcdma only because 4g is weak and constantly drain battery. S6e and digi 4g is a bad combo.

But after on 4g so long, h+ is slow.. laugh.gif
*
Aiyo, perhaps I better stick to Maxis postpaid for my wife's Note 5. So far zero complaints from her other than low quota (1GB only) on her RM98 one plan.

Was tempted to move her to Digi postpaid RM78 (7GB data yo!) but I think I'd rather have her unhappy about quota limit than unstable network issues on her phone.

Rm98 for 1gb data... haha. No doubt maxis is the best, but their price also the best. Well it depends on user, for me, im rather fussy/ocd hence all the complaints.
*
I am OCD also, ha ha.. But my KPI for the missus is 4G network performance and stability (in Penang island) not so much on telco price vs data allocation. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Im considering buying s7e just cuz my n5+digi has data freeze, dropped calls quite frequent.

laugh.gif and i am also considering terminating my contract (penalty of rm800) which i am willing to pay..

Total im abt to spend 3.6-3.7k just cuz of this? laugh.gif
*
Waah, that's quite a hefty $$. But if N5 has this issue for you, the risk would be high for S7E too, no? Same brand, similar build/form factor.

Personally speaking, both my wife and myself have no noticeable network issues with Maxis so far (single sim users).

Doesn't one charge cycle mean fully charging from 0 to 100 percent?

So topping up a batt from 50 to 100 would be considered half a cycle?

I installd the latest pdp and import one from xda but nothings change
So i just disabled manually
Thanx for ur feedback
*
Like u I also disabled packages manually. A total of 192 packages disabled ha ha. Now my note 5 is basically an s6 plus. Because I don't ever use the s-pen, I just need the note 5 for its big display, great camera and good battery life. For my wife's phone, I disabled about 160 packages as she needs s-pen functionality.

Can share ur sot and batt life?
*
Sure thing. On a typical work day, I leave home at 7am (100%) and get home at about 7pm (40%). Average SoT is 3.5 to 4.5 hours. Always on 4g, can't use the wifi at the office (restricted), location services off and bt also off.

Most commonly used apps are chrome, folio pro (facebook), reddit sync pro, Gmail, quora, feedly and chat (telegram, whatsapp, wechat).

I also usually charge the phone back to 100% before I sleep, then use a bit before I nod off at around midnight. Wake up at 6 and battery would be around 95%, quick top up to 100% before I leave home.

IMHO, SoT alone is not always a good indicator of good battery life. Remember, apps can be active and use cpu while screen is off.

I dont have pdp and my sot is averagely 3.5 - 4.5 as well. Now im wondering if i should buy pdp... I manually disabled quite a number of apps using app manager already. Only those which does not give me the option, i left them.

Abt 32 apps i managed to disable.
*
Everyone's mileage will vary.. My main reason in using PDP is not battery life, but more because I dislike apps and services I don't use or need cluttering up my phone. Would've loved to get a nexus 6p but wasnt keen on the form factor and specs.

Woow! this is rather a tough question that will not have definite answer, I urge to understand what is the apps for before you proceeding to disable. One of the example is the BadgeProvider.
*
My 2 sen's worth - BadgeProvider is likely the one responsible for those numbered circles on your apps in Touchwiz, to indicate how many new messages or notifications for said apps. I remember that disabling it also causes an error or kicks you out when you try to check for OTA updates.

YMMV but I played with a Mate 8 just now at Maxis center. Nice phone very smooth to use but the 1080p display is quite meh to me, personally speaking.

I think I'll wait to see what Samsung will offer with the Note 6. Sad that MM is slow to come for my Note 5 but it's not a Nexus after all so I will bring down my expectation a notch.

True. But the note 5 demo unit was not as smooth as the mate 8 demo unit. I compared.

Why my note 5 got occasional contacts issue.

I saved this contact more than 5 time to my gmail. I save all contacts to my gmail.

This morning, its gone again. Whats wrong? Any idea?

Happened to some of my other contacts alao. hmm.gif
*
Only missing in your Note 5 (when you search for contacts) or also missing in your google account?

I've not experienced this before. All my contacts and calendar entries are in my google account only, nothing in phone storage or SIM.

Not really, I think. Maybe 100 or so Note 5 users in LYN who are angry/frustrated/unhappy with Samsung being so slow in releasing MM for the Note 5. There are probably 10 times more users out there who don't even know or care which OS version their Note 5 runs as long as things are working reasonably fine. Silent majority vs noisy minority, maybe Samsung doesn't mind taking their own sweet time.. unsure.gif
