serbadk is one of those higher risk counters whereby if you arent keen on their direction of continuously getting involved in multiple types of projects/services, you shouldnt consider touching it
I, for one, likes it so will be looking to add on opportunity |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ May 28 2021, 02:16 PM) Sounds so familiar. You should have been around when Transmile was first flagged for its accounts.... ppl bring up comparisons every now and then...before transmile there's sapura...nothg wrong though, ppl just dont want to see bad things repeating itself(maybe some do)one of the famous comments was... that one (transmile) is Robert K... there is absolutely no way that Robert will ever let it die..... and sadly died it did. Better pray hard that Serba's woes is not as skin deep as was Transmiles.... thing is this case itself has brought up that it is not related to monetary or fraud, but as naive retailers & trolls like to do, they quickly pounce on the conclusion of fraud accounting etc etc wont be the first and wont be the last in stock market |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ May 28 2021, 02:28 PM) Okay. Let me be not so terrible and be a big more optimistic. RM2? Possible of course, it came close at 1.9x recently...can it hit it? who knows...no one foresaw dnex cacn reach this price from ~0.2 during Christmas right hahaLet's focus on high risk. Say that all this turns out to be small misunderstanding. Simple accounting issues not clarified properly. At best...how high can ur bet go? Can Serba even hit 2.00 in the near future? Worst case? Shit hits the fan... Stock falls below 1.00...maybe 80 sen even.... Does the bet sounds justifiable? Yup high risk is one thing. But for one to embark on a high risk venture, don't you think there needs to be a massive pile of gold to justify the bet? as for bolded part, yes that's the concern, and that's the risk...which is why this is high risk right? if got massive pile of gold, you wouldnt call it high risk already |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ May 28 2021, 02:44 PM) So from it is now... that's about a 40 sen gain. you are setting 1.0 & 2.0 as range for risk assessment, which differs from person to person If shits hits the fan (take 1.00 la and not 80 sen) .... that's a 60 sen risk. Risking 60 sen for a 40 sen gain... Well... if such high risk suits you ... seriously... hope you win your pot of gold. |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ May 28 2021, 02:47 PM) Hahaha.... and exactly. not really, because to me kpmg would have walked away instead of requesting for 3rd party review, if there's a case of fraudIt depends on which side the fence you are at. When there's accounting issues, especially coming from the accountant that has been with the firm for ages, don't you think it's best to assume the worst case scenario? work out the worst case scenario... and judge whether it make sense or not.... and certainly not judge because you have skin in the game. |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ May 28 2021, 03:04 PM) Well.. I asked if 2 was okay and you said it was. I never said I'd settle at 2 or any figure did I?? that's putting words in my mouth lol Anyway it does not matter. It's not me that will lay this bet. You do your own risk/reward and be your own judge. yes of course you be the judge of your own purchases |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ May 28 2021, 03:39 PM) Huh? Why would I be annoyed? I don't even have any skin in this stock. Yup, just an armchair stock commentator. Makes no difference to me if Serba ends up collapsing to 80 sen in the near future and neither it matters to me if it rockets to 3.00 or 5.00 in the future. good for you then to be armchair commentating and not worrying about winning or losing comments |

when the relationship/trust between the company & auditor is severed, best thing is to part ways, hence the proposal by one of the director
onus is on kpmg to respond, but as netizens always do they will come out with their conclusions first |

same thing why couples get married but divorce years later? kpmg is their auditor for past 7 years, not some recent appointment
yeah if you are already made up your mind serba is doing fraud reporting then just go ahead and sell |

QUOTE(YH1234 @ May 29 2021, 03:05 PM) i think trust is not a criteria for audit task. relationship is between the personnel, which is not supposed to exist between a professional firm and his "client". i dont think simply part ways is how audit profession work. yea what i meant was trust from the company to the audit firm, afterall they are the ones payingnot sure what you meant by the bolded part though |

QUOTE(coldbasecamp @ May 30 2021, 09:11 AM) ahh too bad...there's a soundclip of the entire meeting & Q&A being circulated too, maybe u can go to search in serba shareholders telegram group...if ure a serious inestor u ought to check it out rather than relying on news reports basically they did a whole presentation of all the 'red flags' and show their answer to kpmg, to which kpmg still havent revert to this date |

QUOTE(yhtan @ May 30 2021, 02:58 PM) First of all for all the audit firm, they have their SOP coming to Audit, too much red flag will definitely raise alarm and what they did is correct, KPMG want them to follow up the confirmation but Serba management did not. U don't instruct audit firm to follow the Company management, this is because their reputation is on stake when shit happen. first of all u need to check what was being announced, bolded part clearly shows u are not correctly following what's being relayed to the publicIf u look back at Transmile, Enron case then u will understand why auditor is important on this matter. For example, KPMG ask management to follow up on the 11 confirmations on debtors, Management pusing pusing say subsequent period got payment, auditor want to check the existence of the debtors but they pusing pusing around with the answer. kpmg raised red flags, nothg wrong at all, many audits raise red flags here and there but they are usually resolved in a timely manner...it is the sequence of events which followed, whereby they raise red flags to independent director(s) first, then independent director(s) which are not involved in day2day operation inform the management, and management subsequently provided evidence to kpmg within 3 days, to which kpmg has yet to revert, which caused the audit to be unable to complete hence resulting in change of fye all the red flags including the said 12 confirmations are all already presented with their replies to kpmg in the zoom meeting yesterday for those who attended...most of the media/press did not report on these...but i do understand not many will want to dive in and listen since they dont hold or intend to buy any of karim shares, so can just jump to own assumption transmile la enron la london biscs la 1mdb la This post has been edited by SGSuser: May 30 2021, 03:23 PM |

QUOTE(infested_ysy @ May 30 2021, 03:04 PM) Some of you guys should stop worshiping auditors. deloitte, KPMG, they all don't mean shit. hehehe...normal la confirmation bias in us humans...everyone has their own beliefs and when somethg happen which tend to support their views, time to jump the gun~~If they're always right and can do no wrong, how come both deloitte and KPMG were both involved in the 1MDB scandal? I've seen the slides from yesterday's zoom meeting. I'm standing on karim's side for this one. If scib/kpower/serba dips again tomorrow, I'll buy more. thats why not everyone buys, hold or sell the same counters |
