Really.

All the fees collected + his salary ......  millions and millions per year..... for doing nothing.
On the other hand....

Parkson recovered a lot. It's no longer an ultra penny stock (less than 10 sen)

PIE is doing really well the last 2 months....

.... errr .... cannot remember the rest

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Jan 12 2021, 02:56 AM)
There are 3 China etfs on bursa. 0823EA, 0829EA, 0829EB.The first one by Principal (used to be Cimb Principal), the second and third by Affin Hwang Asset Management. 0829EA and EB is the same except EA is in RM and EB is in USD.

I have 0829EA n I'm very happy with it. I have held this since 2019, but have added and reduce depending on market situation. If I held it from beginning (slightly less than 2 years) and didn't trade in and out, I would have made 55%+.

Biggest advantage is low transaction costs. Pay normal bursa brokerage, no forex costs since buy in Ringgit and ETF is exempted from stamp duty. Also it's a Malaysian fund manager, easy to contact for queries and regulated by Malaysian regulators.

But a trick is to make sure that you buy/sell during Hong Kong market is open. HK opens at 9.30am, lunchbteak at 12pm-1pm and closes at 4pm. Outside those hours, bid and ask can be very big. And of course, if HK holiday, also don't buy.

Currently, the biggest risk for this ETF that I see is it holds the US China listed stocks like Baba, Bidu, JD..com and there is worry US decide to delist them because of this trade war. However, maybe this won't happen under Biden and if so, a lot of upside still.

PM me if you want to ask any questions. This is glove stock thread.. 😆

Cuba, You love those ETFs? biggrin.gif

QUOTE(squarepilot @ Jan 12 2021, 09:55 AM)
just some sharing on my personal ideas. i started building my portfolio since 2013. back then i was a total noob and do trading in-out-in-out and lost some of my pocket money. i remembered how i lost money in topglove. yes the worker bully case that sink the gloves shares. i had to cut lost and the next thing happen - H1N1 comes in and the stock easily double from the lowest. a big big mistake made

after a few more stocks trading and lost a few round of money. i decided to stop trading and start buy shares in small batch and forget about it. leave it there and let it just grow or die.

so i have think on malaysia economy and the potential is rather on the export side. when first gotten my salary, i tried hard to save 4 months worth of salary savings of RM1500 and buy hartalega. subsequently i bought into Hevea (no longer with me) and Tguan (swapped to BPPlastic when Tguan was in bad shape)

i have identify 6 sectors i should stay invested which is:-
Gloves
Plastic
furnishing and wood products
Oil and Gas
Tech
Plantation (oil palm)

in the early years, i focus on cheap shares, which means buy the lowest PE stocks, but eventually this idea doesnt work, which eventually i made up my mind and choose to switch over to the industry leader

over the time, i just throw in my salary savings at the beginning of the month (top up with dividend received to invest and buy, and top up)
maybank trade is only RM12 per trade after adding duty stamp, clearing and SST. every batches of RM1000-RM2000, the brokerage fees of RM12 is very reasonable

and if you recalled my previous post. i don't focus on 1 share in the particular sector. i rather stay invest in the top 3 leaders of every industry

WHO in their right mind would have thought that glove stocks can be worth so much? laugh.gif

i bought Spmx at Rm1.78 many years ago when Tai got persecuted. laugh.gif

Long term average is around 22% for the past 20 years.

20 year low was around 19% after tech bubble.

You all can decide if the current rate at 20% is significant enough.

Last 5 years... Sapura only made money in fy 2017 (208 million) ... the other fiscal years losses totaled over 8 billion.... ie total last 5 fiscal years, company lost more than 7 billion....

how much was his total salary the last 5 fiscal years?

You have to wonder what the majority shareholders were doing? Easy to get projects. Not so easy to make profits from them.
Especially with such high overheads as the CEO's excessive pay.

The share covenant was not stated in the annual reports.

Such a fundamental condition and not stated?

QUOTE
“The company should be measured relative to others that have gone bust locally and globally. Shareholders should also evaluate us in non-financial terms, for example the PSC (production sharing contract) that we won in Mexico, the new jobs that we have gotten in Brazil ... that [contributes] a lot more to future growth,” Shahril added.

Easy to win contracts. Not so easy to make profits from them. The oil and gas is a very shady business, especially in the service providers.
