QUOTE(skty @ Sep 15 2020, 06:37 PM) hey guys. majority start selling gloves or still pulling handbrake and wait and see mode? i'm still holding TG but might let go on Thursday AFTER results are out.I need to know this so I can couple it with my analysis whether to buy or sell. Mainly because I did contra trading yesterday. But my long term funds are still in 2nd liner gloves. |

QUOTE(debonairs91 @ Sep 16 2020, 12:41 AM) okay, assuming you have done your own research and due diligence..do you mind telling me which other companies besides gloves sector are doing great and share price are undervalued? is pharma counters share price simply justified by their recent results and profits? |

QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Sep 16 2020, 01:21 AM) Good for trading but definitely not good for long term holdings. Continuing with your sports analogy, here are a few questions..2bil PAT quarter is an extraodinary event for TG. 2bil PAT quarter is a normal event for Maybank. Use Sport Analogy: Will you pay 100mil transfer fees to sign Lebron James which is a proven consistent performer, or will you pay 80mil transfer fees to sign Jeremy Lin which has just one spectacular season that is better than Lebron James ? 1. Is the 'spectacular' season over? Heck, i'd spend a great amount of money to sign Jeremy Lin if he is able to win me trophies. The revenue a star/hype player generates in 1 spectacular season is just nuts. 2. Will you pay $100m for LeBron now if he might cost you $50m in a few months time due to unexpected reasons? |

QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Sep 16 2020, 02:16 AM) Cause it's math and probability. The probability of a consistent performer failing to perform after one bad season is lower than a mediocre player with one major outstanding season. I agree. Maybank is considered as a safe dividend counter. And I am not opposing the idea of investing in Maybank. In fact, I'm looking for opportunity to enter if there is.I believe in regression to the mean, or as they say in wallstreet long run market is a weighing scale. Why not just do a simple test by putting 10k each in TG & Maybank at today closing price, and you just close your account and check back 5 years later. To see which generate the better return inclusive of growth and dividend. Anyway another important point when investing in growth company, it's what we call total addressable market size. Apple is a good example of this. Apple is consider a growth stock, cause it has a HUGE market, almost everyone uses a smartphone and uses watches, app etcs. Their market is very big, is just a matter at how good they are capturing the market and execution. Whereas not everyone uses gloves. No matter how much glove may grow during pandemic, the growth will hit a LIMIT CAP. Unless you say top glove pivot its business into other area like tyres, condom etc to capture more growth. Also on seasonality, one season is trading. I never say it's a bad to trade glove counters. With the volume and volatility, its actually a pretty good trade. Between down and up, there is easily 30- 50% difference. Investing is thinking of buying the business and partaking on a share of it's future profit. So i say no no to glove investment. And yes, gloves would have a ceiling soon, but how soon? No one can say. But here are the facts as of now: 1. Covid cases has been increasing. 2. ASP is still increasing. (Once ASP stops increasing, the growth of gloves will reach the peak) 3. QR results are hugely in favor of gloves. With these in mind, which other business is anyone gonna invest in if there are no numbers to back it up like glove companies? I believe this industry still have a few explosive quarters before ASP stops increasing. Who knows what would happen after that? |

QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Sep 16 2020, 11:46 AM) Anyway if you read, i'm saying if you wanna treat TG like growth stock. Compare it to Apple. To be honest, no companies in Bursa is Apple. In the end glove is no Apple. Thats all. It's still the same old boring industrial, like cement, steel making, tyres manufacturer etc. Share prices of tech companies in Malaysia has increased significantly in 2020 as well. Would you pay for them at current prices? |

Every week change story one. Play gloves like change shirt, keep changing counters. Either he really duno to analyse which counter is good, or just trolling for the sake of fun Take all advices/stories/posts with a grain of salt. |

QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Sep 16 2020, 04:48 PM) Yeah im still taking in position in tech. This is a bull market why not, everything good will go up. I agree tech's growing currently and will grow in the future. The thing is when glove up 5%, tech usually also up 5%. But when vaccine news or disappointing QR, glove drop 30% tech usually got drag down what 5 ~ 8% ? But still glove is sexy and obvious, everyone just focus there. Do you know tech especially consumer devices parts (eg laptop, smartphones, PCs, 5G chips, wifi cards, Data Centers processors are all experiencing crazy demand and not likely to go down soon). This technological shift is going to be permanent and unlikely people will use less smartphones or enterprise need to use less datacentre once covid is gone. But not all are Apple/Tesla/Amazon. Which will continue being in demand or which will be obsolete in the future, no one knows? With that said, I am also looking for opportunities to enter some good tech counters for long term investment. |
