we are in the low-interest environment and everyone's looking for every possible way to make use of the ringgits/dolar, which interest affects every region/country differently. what asset classes are you holding to mitigate the risk? commodities, metals, property, crypto?

Just learning about stock market. I was wondering if there is market crash or recession would it affect the Tech Stock industry?
As i think many people maybe have no money to buy electronic items sales drop therefore malaysia tech stock will be affect or the other way round tech stock price increase as people use it to hedge market crash but the risk is very high.

Yup, taking the hits. Ive more or less provision for around 30% portfolio lost for china tech after my last round of average down. That is worse case. Now im sitting at around 15% negative from total.

Still like what im seeing from china technology push but regulatory risk is there.

Those tech stocks are hit for a reason beyond them.... which destroys whatever fundamentals it has....

so how you even attempt to put an value on it?

That's thing. Are they suppose to give it to me based on the number of shares I have? Am I suppose to buy these shares or do I buy the mother share and they give me an x amount?

Sorry for the silly questions as this is the first I come across it in this 5 years of investing stocks.

I would like to ask, is anyone here approved to short-sell on Bursa? I've done extensive due diligence and have a very strong conviction in shorting one of the companies here (I promise it is not related to tech or gloves - will post my research once my account is approved). Any experienced short-seller here with share borrowing privileges apart from IDSS? How much net asset value do you need to maintain?

Which brokerage firm is the most friendly to retail short-sellers? How much is the fees and which firm gives the longest time to cover? Because I am planning to build a long-term short position.

This is testament to the fact that equities market on KLSE is completely RIGGED. You can't short. Everything you buy gets inversed by your broker (especially low volume stocks). Your only options are overpriced call/put warrants that never move

All chinese tech stock sinks as china considering turning tutoring sector into non-profit. China gov has final say in everything and non challengeable.

While US market rises to an all time high.

Divergence is getting even more pronounce now in terms of valuations between China and US big tech

when a govt interfere, throw valuations into the longkang already.....

it's pointless... cause we do not exactly what they will do, when they will do and how big they will do it...

don't simply fight when the odds are totally not in your favor.

Be careful with China Tech. Words have it China will continue to force delisting of China tech shares so that they will list in HK or SZ. Devaluing the value now makes it cheaper to delist. Again no one know, if you believe the fundamentals good. A lot of bank view (via Unit Trust fund managers) also see long term upside. But if you buy China stocks listed in US, I don't know what happens if they delist. Forced to buy your share at the price being delisted?

Also I don't quite get the logic for China to shut itself out of US market funding... hurt itself to get US to compromise? Since US also hurting big time as a lot of US funds invested in those shares.
