Yea, will have a look tomorrow morning session, should be some profit taking to around RM 9.00 and after lunch will see how whether to top up abit or not.. just 1 question on the share dividend, we need to hold the share before 7 Dec to entitle for it? I’m still an amateur on this.....
*
You need to hold the share on 7 December 9am, you can sell it on 7 December.

i3 quite hostile, if they don't like what you say or against what they want to hear. But still they provide good info and sometime their news really super fast.

Anyway thanks in part to you, today i caught some profit also. I also listen to what i want to listen only sometimes  tongue.gif
*
In i3 (almost) everybody takes a position to either defend or attack a stock. A lot of the information there is simply not true. You basically can't believe much of what you read unless a good source is provided which can back up the information.
It is good to find hot stocks though.

Here, people mostly do light chatting about news in the stock market. Some people use it for post count I guess. But people seldom share what they buy or sell.

BAT has been rising, what's your thought about it?
*
Strong and stable company, great dividend yield. Good future potential with the increased border controls.

I had recommended it about 2 weeks ago in this thread, it was much cheaper then.

If you hold serbadk long enough like me you will see a pattern smile.gif I personally think they need 1-2 years to reap. Sold it off last month at a small gain as I needed money.

If I did one thing right this year was to hodl uwc from march until now. Never a doubt of its fundamentals.
*
I always see this company in the news for securing projects. Looks like a stable company with stable income and stable profits. I'm holding some, won't sell before RM2.

QUOTE(zstan @ Dec 3 2020, 04:10 PM)
if it's strong and stable why did their share price dropped from close to RM40 one year ago to RM12 now. sweat.gif
*
Price had dropped since revenue and dividends had dropped due to illegal cigarettes taking over too much market share.
The government has announced measures to counter this in the latest budget.
I have a personal target for this stock of RM 16 by next year. At that stage I will check if there are any other stocks which are better.

It's strong and stable, because even though there is an ongoing pandemic, it is still able to pay out consistent dividends every quarter, unlike a lot of other dividend paying stocks (for example bank and beer stocks).
If you have any other stocks which did this at or around the same dividend yield, please let me know.

This stock indeed pays very good dividend. Like 4 times a year I think. Tenaga only 2 times per year? I bought around 10 plus or 11 plus a couple of months back, already collected 2 times dividend. Do you think if it reaches RM16 or even RM20 can sell? I am thinking of holding to this stock for its dividend for my retirement income. I am more worried about lesser people nowadays (especially youngster) smoking. Not sure if dividend sustainable for the next 20 years without losing capital.
*
I think you can't hold most stocks in Malaysia for the very long term. You can sell whenever you have comfortable profit. Nobody knows how high it will go.

You confirm will lose capital. Just look at its NP. Decreasing every year. Dividends also decrease every year.

Nothing is confirmed in the stock market, until the stock goes to 0. If the government goes ahead with the budget's proposals it is quite likely that 2021 will be better for BAT than 2020.

Bad news for long term investors. We are now at the same level as Thailand.

Fitch Ratings has downgraded Malaysia's Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to 'BBB+' from 'A-'. The Outlook is Stable.

Although it is good news, everybody already knew this was going to happen before it actually happened. It was therefor a non-event and price just moved based on the normal market movement for that day.

2022 is still very much unclear, at least to me.

I still remember the earlier stage of gloves rally, bank analysis keep changing their tp to higher tp, as frequent as weekly or every 2 weeks, haha. This week set tp rm4. Once breach, change their tp to rm5 or 6, lmao. So just take bank analysis with a pinch of salt, as they are human too.

Lets see how 2021 unfold.  laugh.gif
*
For me, those analyst's reports are only ok for checking data on a new stock and seeing trends. The target price is the most useless thing in the analysis as it can be adjusted to whatever the analyst likes by adjusting parameters.

It has happened to me many, many times with the stocks that I sold. The moment I sold it, it shot up 10% or even 20% within a few days.

This shows that we need to improve our TA.

But life goes on. No point regretting. There are many other opportunities in the future.
*
Yeah, this happens to everybody. We are less likely to remember the times that we sold and the stock dropped afterwards.

We can try and learn small lessons here and there but the important thing in the end is that we at least earn more than FD rates. It doesn't really matter, how we do it.

If you can't do it, better don't trade.

lol should it be time to be fearful when kopitiam is also talking and posting about stock picks?

or happy that more and more ppl are vested in stock market

I look more at the US market as an indicator. It is at an all time high while there is an ongoing pandemic which has major effects on everybody worldwide for a while to come. If it were to drop significantly, we will follow. Just like we followed when it went up significantly after the major vaccine announcement.

So, I'm currently more fearful.

You guys still into glove counters?

Hmm I predict SUPERMX will retest RM7 soon.. Today gap down without bad news..
*
I left a while ago. The risk was too high as any glove counter can drop significantly without any reason. Because once it starts to drop a bit, it can cause a chain effect of all the new inexperienced retailers panicking and causing it to drop very fast. The best example was the September 10 flash crash.

Of course now, there could be significant vaccine news on any given time increasing the risk of another flash crash happening.

QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Dec 7 2020, 05:01 PM)
It's a little bit hard now for buyer & seller to meet at an intersection for glove based on psychological level.

Future glove buyer - Want to buy as low as possible to reduce their acquisition risk. Some putting target at RM5 / 5.50 / 4 for TG and so forth. Make sense, cause they will be the one to carry glove stock into the next chapter.

Current Glove Holder - Want to sell as high as possible, either to recoup capital, reduce losses or still looking for profit for their time holding the stock.

With such contrasting view, especially future buyer having higher perceived risk of holding glove stock, the pressure will always be on the selling side. Oh well, good thing there is still buybacks to wallap everything you want to sell at them.
*
For me, I will look at where these counters were before the pandemic. For example topglov was at around RM5 before the pandemic.
Let's say I add 100% to that since glove usage will still be increased after the pandemic, it would be at RM10.

Currently it is at RM 6.60, but this is after a share split.
So the numbers would be: before pandemic about RM 1.67, after pandemic RM 3.33, currently at RM 6.60. I will not be looking at buying glove counters any time soon.

Good morning all sifus,

i have a quite complicated questions.

During 2018, i have 80,000 units of PUC at 0.191.
Meaning my cost is Rm 0.191 x 80,000 = RM 15280

Somehow during this year, I rmb there is a corporate action on PUC that cause it consilidate at a ratio of 1:5 making my original 80,000 units become 16,000 unit.

after consolidate, the price become 0.110.
Meaning my value after consolidation is
Rm 0.110 x 16000 unit = RM 1,760.00

i lost Rm 13k after consolidation?
This doesn't make sense at all.
Thanks all sifus.
*
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Just before consolidation the share price was RM 0.03 or RM 0.035. At this stage you would have lost 83% of your money (bought at 0.191, before consolidation price about 0.0325).

Currently price is 0.16, 0.16 x 16,000 = RM 2,560, compared to your initial investment of 15,280 you still have lost about 83%.

Lets see if this is just a minor pullback before rally to my final TP, or straight dive down  laugh.gif

It was to be expected since it had gone up very fast in the last few days. I was actually amazed at the speed. I will keep what I still have and top up if it drops too much.

If I can tell anybody one lesson, it is to set a stop loss price whenever you buy a stock. And then stick to it and sell once it hits the stop loss point.

This is because some stocks will keep on going down until they hit 0. One of my failures was MEMS last time, I kept it until it was de-listed and worth nothing.

Second lesson would be that if you keep on losing money it's best not to invest in the stock market. Most people lose money in the stock market.
