just wish to share some of my diy job with you guys. tongue.gif

after reading all these thread about air cooling and air flow, somehow i got an idea to mod my scythe ninja.

i cut off 2 piece of card board ( cut from my old cd rom box ), use double sided tape and attach to the upper and bottom part of my scythe ninja. as show in the pic

after adding the 2 card boards, the hot air flow directly to the exhaust fan.

result: my cpu temp drop 2-4 degree after the mod. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

thats all for today, please feel free to comment. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

cheers!

Wouldn't using acrylic cause heat built up...why not try aluminium or other conductor?

sometime the cheapest looking way is the best way to do something right smile.gif

TS, have you submitted your idea to Scythe? asked them to test it out and give you an official answer on it.

Because arcylics is not build to be a heat conductor such as aluminium & copper...
That's why u can't use arcylic casings, they sucks! laugh.gif

Full aluminium casings is still the best...

***Ek eleh, ko ni cakap pasal arcylic ni, ko sendiri pakai casing lian li full aluminium!
Apahal plak nak sokong sokong casing arcylic? laugh.gif

haha if u case has alot of heat component like the presshots, and 8800gtx sli, or anything that has a huge heat output, an acylic case has beeen known to bend coz of the heat, it becomes softer...

there is always dead silent fan as an option but then more fan = more dust

If i'm not mistaken, although the acrylic is not a heat conductor but heat from the fins will transfer to the acrylic in other to achieve thermal equilibrium(keseimbangan thermal). But due to the acrylic being a poor heat conductor the heat build up in the acrylic will not disipate to the air surrounding.

Just my 2 cents...
