It's a common problem for someone who use it kasar-kasar.. cool2.gif

Use it with care then you would not face any problem. It's not tray drive, it's slot-loading so do not push in your cd too much, push a little bit, the slot will suck it in.

Er, wouldn't using a scissors to get the CD out spoil/damage the CD?!

I sure wouldn't want to be using any scissors or whatever-else to get CDs out of any drive..... And it definitely doesn't look too 'cool' !!! *grins* rolleyes.gif

Speaking of which, wanna tell me where I should put the scissors so the 01010101010 data doesn't get corrupted, just in case? tongue.gif

I got a CD stuck on my slot loading drive once. Reason it's stuck because it's a cheap CD-R and it's uneven (not flat). Took me a while to figure how to take it out and it's a simple matter with out the scissors.

Just tilt the notebook with the drive opening facing the ground and press the eject button. Using the gravity force, your CD should slide out from the slot.

instead of scissor, you could have use a tweezer. slot-loading sucks anyway. stylish, elegant but impractical as hell.

The slot loading drive on my Titanium PowerBook bought in August 2001 is still working fine. Slot loads are present on my brand new HDMI Sony DVD player and my Nintendo Wii.

Whilst you may be unlucky and get a defective drive, I'd prefer to think that sensible handling would mean these drives last as long as the tray variety.

You can't use a nonstandard size CD with a slotload. Don't even try.

Read the manual.

guys need help.

Mine is not superdrive, combo drive only, but when i insert any cd or dvd, nothing happens. Based on the settings in my system preference > cd n dvd and also finder's preference, it should show the cd/dvd on my desktop or ask me what to do.

How do i solve this problem ?

go back lowyat, complain...

when i was buying my macbook also, it seems that batch quite poorly made....

i wasn't so happy with my display and the fittings of the keyboard plate around the edges where can see it isn't flush with the back cover..

they took out another unit for me, it was even worse...

we have consumer rights, and they should provide the service...
besides, they can always claim it back from apple...

I'll see what i can do

Added on September 9, 2007, 12:47 amLooks like my MB can read my original audio cd. Maybe it's the cd/dvd problem. But then my PC can read the disc that cannot be read. Hmmm
