Great to win like that, but it is just three points. Of course it's good to see us having a +2 goal difference for a change!

Shouldn't get carried away though. Up until Milner's goal, the bottom team was still holding well and our midfield didn't look solid, with too many misplaced passes and losing possession cheaply.

Villa really crumbled after Can's goal. In a sense, Liverpool didn't thrash Villa. Villa just collapsed.

We are just so spectacularly inconsistent. So, we cannot even say from this point onwards we will be going on a winning run. We could play badly come Thursday and be held by Augsburg or..even lose!
*
Ya, have the same view.
Especially for Toure's goals, a schoolboy shambolic defending, with totally no one mark him in front of six yard box at all, and just simple header, don't need to jump as well, just standing there.

No to take away the credit away from the team, as players did play well together, but the big scoreline was more about mixture of AV shambolic defending + average good performance by returning players.
Having a proper striker (Sturridge started) made a lot of difference to the team.
Firmino is not good to lead the line alone on his own, he seems more suit to AM instead striker.

Err, I thought Target Mans are for the wingers to loft the ball to him to convert instead of him getting the ball himself and go Suarez? laugh.gif
*
Those target man is more suit to midtable, relegation team, whereby they may have less possession in most matches, and rely hoofing the ball upfront to hold up the ball, then scored from the crosses come in later on, or just like Heskey/Owen combo, Heskey won the header which fed to Owen to latch on second ball to score.

If playing passing game, target man become too stand still and affect the team fluidity.

Most fan will want sakho + matip but im prefer matip+lovren as matip is kind of front line defender and lovren is good at covering the defender..

But not surprise if a new face to partner cb..haha

Lovren is slow, how to cover... laugh.gif

For a start, i'm always skeptical when a player joins us for free because i have this life philosophy that good things never come free.

Either this guy is injury prone or has a bad disciplinary record off the pitch so im saying MAYBE it's worthwhile checking those areas first before making a hasty conclusion on him.
*
Sometimes it depends on the manager.

Vardy only cost Leicester £1 mil
AW signed many good players at bargain price as well.
Klopp signed a number of good players at good price.
Simeone also another one manager turn bargain player into gold.

No conclusion can be made, until the player performs on the pitch.
Last time, many also said Lovren, Lallana were good signing. whistling.gif

The club needs someone who can score freekick like this.

http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2016...ound-the-world/

The ball looked heading to right corner but swerve until to left corner, no GK can save such a freekick.

Finally, Yes please.

He could do with an appointment and serve the critics up their ass.
Rodgers said there were 5 premiership clubs that had previously reached out for him after LFC. (I think they were all premiership clubs, he said)
I think there are several different camps (camp KD, camp BR, camp RB, no camp Roy) that felt unwanted here in LYN's Kopites tread

I hope anyone who left, do return. There will always be some poster here that equate the real football world to something like fantasy football 🙄 some are traditionalist (purist old school) and there are realist here. I'm more of the latter.

I'm all for Klopp. A wonderful LFC signing. Sometimes I still need to pinch myself we have him as manager. Whatever manager we had, the up n downs, they were part of LFC history. Ups and downs. LFC is not perfect but we will get there

I previously taught it was Chelsea or MU..... whistling.gif

Guess I am wrong. tongue.gif

I couldn't see any handball after replaying several times, it just gaze the guy hand a tiny lil bit, not even close.  hmm.gif
*
If see from slow motion replay from another angle/camera, it hit the whole raised hand and the hand was just in front of the another defender head.

Agree with others, the penalty is debatable.

Yes - the ball did hit the whole hand which resulted the ball deflected elsewhere from the cross. The ball didn't actually being headed out, but hit the hand whereby the hand just in front of another defender and appeared headed out in normal pace in TV.

No - the ball just in front of own defender header, which doesn't differ the outcome.

QUOTE(Cloud0890 @ Mar 2 2016, 08:56 AM)
Though I agree Hendo is not the best captain, I don't think it's that big a deal when it's just a title. I'm sure the senior players with experience Kolo, Milner and Lucas play roles somewhat like a captain in the dressing room without actually being captain.

The more urgent need is to get actual quality players instead of worrying about who should be captain. It doesn't matter if your captain is Gerrard or Maldini if he is surrounded by 10 other scrubs who cheat a living playing "football".
*
Captain is not just "title" alone.
It has influence to the team as whole to up into extra gear.

This situation especially more pronounced when the team is trailing behind, a strong character captain will lead the team and drive the team forward.
This was what happening during the Istanbul, the captain scored the first goal which drive the team to come back from behind.

Strong, good team, a title winning team always has a captain who has strong character and lead by example.

but I wondered why kompany moved to allow the shot past him for goal
I haven't checked the other front runners, it seems all lost except Manu. Good that we can catch some grounds, we been stumbling previously & it wasn't pleasing

Hart positioning was questionable for the first goal as well.
Lallana's shot was not that fierceful actually, just like a placing shot.

All he has is pace. Even if crossing is not a problem he still lacks intelligence to pick out the right pass.
*
You mean the pace to spring upfront then lose the ball that leave big hole on LB and and out of position? sweat.gif

It would be miracle to keep a clean sheet with LB that playing like this.

I don't understand this team sometimes.

Pass between defenders>pass to magnolia>kick the ball>lose the ball>repeat

If you have the likes of magnolia, henderson and sakho passing the ball, you better just carry the ball upwards.

Second time, Liv won the match at last min.
That's why Klopp want fans to stay until last min. biggrin.gif

This is really something that many fans have not experienced before for the last few years.

Looks like the midfield and strikers are clicking at the right time.
One of the best performance of the season thus far. MancsU hardly had a sniff

I think the easing fixture helps Klopp in training.

Last time, there was almost no time to train the player when fixture come thick and fast.

itu tactical plan that backfired la.
defend deep, counter attack wings, try win by 0-1 away goal.
*
Ya, especially seeing Fellani in the line up.

The tactic I suspected was, try to play deep and defend, typically LVG tactic,
and since Liv has history of weak in set piece defending, put Fellani to attack those aerial ball from set piece, and score goal from there.

QUOTE(koolspyda @ Mar 12 2016, 07:14 AM)
I am seeing people online calling Rafa desperate.

So unbecoming of a supposedly top manager to need to join a relegation club.

Well, in less than 10 games we will know if Rafa is the type to shy away from crisis.

One, His appointment at Newcastle will address some questions IF he can/cannot manage crisis (I think he has done it many times previously in several clubs, I don't understand why he need to prove?

He one F'ing cool dude under storm. On & off field. He rarely goes to the level thats typical of some manager (name calling), but at most compare situations to maybe buying ikea stuffs 😂

Two, he is relishing to show he's no coward by joining a mid table, no wait always almost every season in a relegation situation

Three, he has jonjo shelvey (that supposedly lazy player, even labeled useless poS, and many felt BR was right to sell him).

Bills to pay? Rafa's family is still at Liverpool & Newcastle is not too far away. At most I'm told by some fellas, it's probably only less than 10 games & he will be sacked. If I'm Rafa or in his shoes, I don't know he puts himself there (part of me now believe he believes in himself)
Took Rodgers job? Didn't Rodgers turned down 5 top clubs after Liverpool, as what he said? No? Isn't he was primed for Barcelona or England's job? 😱
*
He made Valencia La Liga a champion at the expense of RM and Barca.
He made Liv a CL title winner.

How can a manager has such a CV being called as "desperate"?

I see it is a brave move by him in accepting the job of a club that potential being relegated.
He can easily or cowardly reject the job if want to "preserve" his CV. whistling.gif

QUOTE(Everdying @ Mar 12 2016, 09:12 PM)
all last few teams he took had a shot at winning something.
Valencia had already made CL final before rafa took over.
LFC no need say.
further appointments at inter, chelsea albeit interim, napoli and RM...gave him the chance to win more trophies at teams who had already won something before he joined.
so seeing Newcastle, completely nowhere in sight... not having won a major honor since the 50s or 60s...finished near relegation last season...
so ya, its either hes getting paid a shitload - which is very likely seeing its mike cashley - or hes desperate... or both.
usually when someone is already desperate, they dont care what others think...
*
I have to disagree partly on LFC part.
Prior before Rafa took over, LFC was not a force in Europe, let alone in CL.
Mind that, LFC won 1 CL and a runner up in another year within his 5 years plus tenure.

CL was something a distance away prior before Rafa took over.
None of LFC manager managed to do well in CL prior and after him.

See how last LFC manager record in CL.
Need to field "team B" against RM (like raising white flag before even kick off), and only managed to have 1 unconvincing win against minnow at the last min with penalty somemore, if not mistaken.

Rafa's record with Inter, RM may not look good.
But Rafa's record with LFC was superb, this is undeniable facts.

Without him, LFC won't have CL trophy in the cabinet (need to win 5 times to keep it).
