No, it was quite late at night, the KL Tower had closed. The rider had dinner at the tower itself, requested ride home. So, I drive up (after I spoke to security to let me in). Then, as I drove up to lobby, the rider is not ready, aka talking and talking selfie (fine with me, after all, the area is quite quiet, closed, no traffic, can wait), suddenly, one fella (I don't want to put the race here) come towards me, asking me what I am doing here, I thought he is the security or staff of KL Tower, so, I told him, I'm here to pick up somebody, please let me wait for a while.

Suddenly, he shouted "Oh...you Uber/ Grab driver? What the hell you doing here? You illegal ok!" and walking towards my car (initial distance about 3 meter), with very menacing look, only I realized there is one taxi parked there (and he must be expecting the rider will use him, a big windfall for him, as it already past midnight), so, to avoid any further confrontation, I decide to drive further (i.e. little bit downwards, as you need to drive up hill in KL Tower) and quickly call my rider to explain and apologize. Thank God, she extremely understanding the situation, while I keep apologizing to make her walk (about 50 meter). She was shock and angry at the same time (as the taxi driver also keep shouting and scolding her say "Do you know Uber/ Grab is illegal? Why you still want take Uber/ Grab despite it illegal?). She was extremely pissed with the taxi driver keep repeating, who said Grab/ Uber is illegal? Even if illegal, she would rather, without any second thoughts taking Uber/ Grab ride rather than this sort of rogue taxi drive! And, she was totally understanding, despite me keep apologizing to her (I think I apologized no less than 20 times  )

And, she told me they are also expecting another Uber ride too, and I told her, quick to call her friends, be careful, quickly jump into the car, don't wait and drive away. Good thing is that it is only 1 taxi there, but, the area is really quiet and deserted.

What really embarrassing is the my rider is with some foreigner friends/ tourist, and they witness the whole incidents. One words to describe, these taxi drivers really mermalukan Malaysia in eyes of the world. And, honestly, I believe it the rider preference what mode of transportation they want, we, Uber or Grab driver did not take away their business, it is them themselves break their own rice bowl and blame on others by cheating and fleecing passengers. They are all welcome to drive for Uber or Grab to compete if they want, it purely economy 101, demand and supply. No wonder out of 10 riders I pick up, 10 of them say after they took Uber/ Grab, they will never ever go back taking taxi anymore, no matters what. 

That's actually a brilliant idea, especially for the safety of female drivers. After all, most rides tend to be 1 or 2 riders and very seldom 3 or more. If only Uber will take such suggestions seriously.

Guys, be carefull when picking up passenger at Kelana Jaya Lrt station. My front left door almost kena kopak by taxi driver. When my rider jump in at the back the taxi driver came and open my front left door. The dialogue is like this 'aku kopak ea'. The taxi driver do it for real! Got krakk sound at my door. Once my rider close the door i just vroom leaving the station. Lucky got space for escape in front. But i still kena baling telur at my rear windshied. After drop my rider i check back my door, the door trim came out abit, need to push back then ok. The egg yolk very sticky after dried.

Yeah, I also thinking about switching to Grab but I just scared about the fixed fare, you know. Sometime, Uber riders will want to go to another location first or something....

If Grab riders suddenly say, the drop off location is wrong or they want to go somewhere else or something, then I'm screwed right?

Ask the rider cancel and re-request again?
OIC. How often this happen? For Uber, it is quite frequent, average 10% of the ride, especially when rider cannot find their destination, or simply drop pin.

I normally wait for rider exit only I rate them. 
Why? Too long inactive?

Driving to KLIA/KLIA2 is a losing money concern 
Toll+Petrol+Time for return trip would kill me

My first trip to KLIA (Desa Sri Hartamas to KLIA) - Fare is rm75 - rm18.75(uber fee) - rm9.30(toll) = get rm46.95
Distance is 70km
Drive back to Home would be 56km
Petrol cost would run me (126km total) 12 litres for rm21.42
for 2 hours on the road get rm46.95 - rm21.42 = rm25.53    (not yet count car maintenance and toll for return trip)
Yup. will confirm cancel KLIA/KLIA2 trip next time

I gave a rider 1 star last Friday.

1. Pick up location wrong. when I saw pick up at Federal Highway I straight call him, it's actually the row of shops in Shah Alam that's beside Federal Highway.
2. On my way to pick him, he message ask me faster because he's late (not my problem). It was raining heavily so can't really drive fast but I did drive a little faster.
3. Reach location, he was nowhere to be seen. Thought I stop wrong place so just drove a bit further up to see if there's anybody waiting.
4. He calls me and start screaming, asking why I drove away, say he's late, and now he's wet cause he's standing in the rain. Found out he was waiting inside the shop for me.
5. Came in my car, continue ranting, and slammed the door. <---- that was where I decided to 1-star him
6. Destination he set to his home, so as normal, I verify with him first. In a damn rude tone, "BUS STATION SEKSYEN 13 LA! KAN DAH SET!?".
7. Bill was RM 4.01, he had the cheek to say, "I ada 1 sen, you nak?".

His rating was 5.0, hopefully after the 1-star, his rating drops tremendously. Other drivers shouldn't suffer.

We are kind enough to let strangers sit our car, I believe they should "behave" themselves too.

Newbie report today

1) pickup Jalan BU 7/x to First City University (1.4km) 
- kids nowadays lazy to walk (walking is only 1.2km), but why walk? when FaMa bank can pay uber driver rm2.11
2) pickup Jalan BU2/x , start trip, and ........... destination? Melaka 
- who the hell going to cover my petrol/toll cost on the way back?
- i tell rider to fly kite, since trip started, i could not find the way to cancel(can driver cancel after start?), i wait for rider to cancel
- would pity the next uber drive that actually do the trip (unless the driver really wanna go for makan angin)

so far long distance journey I experience the rider will call and let me know beforehand. and ask whether I'm taking or not. to klia, klang and banting. so far the long distance trips.

Uber driver will not know your destination until they start the trip, aka you entered the car

Lol....I had encounter few times, pick up riders with big luggage, in my mind, die lor, sure KLIA/ KLIA2, rugi liou....manatau, actually nearby, some students shift house, some move/ from hotel to serviced apartment, etc....so, I nowadays, always tell myself, don't judge, go with the flow....hard, as mind will auto-analysed once received ping based on location....who are the rider, foreigners of tourist, foreign workers, hot chics,  asshole, etc, etc....and then, repeat again once accepted, analysing based on name and rating. 

Hi, is there a lot of girl Uber drivers? Is being an Uber rider a good way to meet girls and get their phone nos.?

you can report to Uber if the driver is using another non register vehicle.
but known problem I heard is Iswara shown but in fact is Saga. some system problem you will see Iswara in the rider apps instead of registered properly as Saga.

You cannot drive different car which you registered with Uber. If rider complaint, you'll get banned.

For me I just keep quiet la... They also cari makan. Unless something happen I won't report.

yesterday i kena played out. i was at cheras near tmn connaught. i got a ping at batu 9 cheras. as i was approaching the toll, the rider cancelled the ride. i had no choice but to pay the toll for nothing. i wasn't familiar with cheras route and i didn't know that there is a toll. P**dek rider made me lost money without any ride.

Fortunately after waiting for 5 minutes after the toll, i got another rider though the pick up is 6km away.

Uber need to revise their cancellation policy. Riders that cancel after 2 minutes will be charged RM5. the 5 minutes grace period is way too long. many drivers would've passed the toll and got cancelled without any compensation. I think 2 minutes is sufficient time for them to think whether they want the ride or not.

Don't need to care about it. It's consent to find out more about you a.k.a hunt you down.

Say 5 days week, 40 hours, so, each week 10 hours
Each day 2 hours

RM1500/20 =  RM75 per day

So, each hour = RM37.50

   

You all are drivers also right.....so, you think leh?
