given uber 25% comm, if you are smart, simple maths tells you that your 'gross earning distance' is only (40km * 0.75) = 30km

which means your efficiency is only 30km / 60km = 50%

every buck you earn, half goes to uber and charity drive (aka distance to pickup rider).

exactly, especially appealing to financially not savvy people who like immediate short term money but suffer long term later, which is why driving uber will not be a permanent job, hence uber don't will not treat you like a perm staff, not even contract staff, at most like temp staff. You can only see this clear when u wake up from the matrix, like some i see here already started to, only after months.

their income definition is so flawed. It's called collection. You are smarter, so you want to look at costings more clearly.

1/4 took by uber 25% comm.
1/4 to pay for petrol, incl wasted trips to pickup/go home and between trips drive to no where.
1/4 pay for maintenance, phone/data, saman, car depreciation, health insurance, engine overhaul, accidental risk, etc.
you get 1/4 at most (peanut)

you are not even in business/employment/contract category, hence slavery category is created for uber drivers.

So, next time anyone tell u that they earn 4k (in collect), tell them that they work 10 hours a day to earn at most 1k only.

if traffic jam (check waze), as a rider, use Grab (driver do the opposite)
