i drove during super high surge and i only got RM5.37 for 1 1/2 hours ride. rider only go 3km and it was super jam.  can't pick up other riders and also cannot drop them off. next round if super jam, i cancel trip even better off. after dropping that rider, i go offline and ask uber to fly kite.

yes, u get paid high for 1 trip but if the surge is so high, 90% it's short distance and in an hour, u can only do 1 trip. not worth it.

i was at bangsar south and pickup point is at Avenue 5. Rider only go to Pantai Hill Park 2 and another at 5.

i blacklist bangsar south.... mostly super short trips.

If confirmed empty car back, I will ask for an additional 50% at least. Rider will pay, I have done it a few times in the past.

Upfront fare calculation is based on Uber's time estimation - when a rider book his/her ride.
Problem arises when traffic suddenly build up tremendously, which is always the case during peak hours.
Not mentioning that their time estimation is not as accurate as Waze.

When actual fare is higher than upfront fare, fare remains the same - rider untung, driver rugi, Uber no untung/rugi.
But when actual fare is lower than upfront fare, fare paid to driver is lower than upfront fare - rider rugi, driver no untung/rugi, Uber untung.

So, Uber will never make any loss.
All losses is bore by rider or driver only.

It won't be exactly double but it should be around there. There isn't a double charge on the base fare of RM0.95
