khairizha, You can also get more information from MacAsia @ www.macasia.com.my. Best is if you go into a shop and test a Mac.
The MacBook Pro would be quite suited for you but if your budget is below 6k, I suppose you can go with the MacBook.

The problem with us humans are that we just want da best all the time. Obviously if u have the budget, go ahead and get the RM10k MBP but the additional RM4k is quite a lot of $ to spend [assuming your budget is RM6k]. I think what you need to do first of all is to set your budget and find a machine that's within that price range. Of course, unless your FA-MA scholarship entitles you to a RM10k notebook then by all means, go for the RM10k MBP

goldfries, By the time the price drops, you'll be wanting the new released products, isn't it? Hence, again the question of, how does one keep abreast with technology?

allvin, Yes I believe the CD versions and C2D versions were similarly priced, at least till now where Apple's trying to 'dispose' off their CD units. I've never been a follower of the Mac machines until recently but I've a feeling the next introduction may come with a little face lift of the current MB/MBP models? And hopefully, they'll be able to find a technology to prolong battery lifespan I'm still using 1st Gen centrino, and for daily work purposes, it's more than sufficient. Obviously I don't do any video editting/rendering or graphics on this ancient beloved dinosaur of mine
