iirc real video encoder is very slow compare with other encoders, if u cant play the HD video in real time, then transcoding it to other video format would take 3x or more time to finish it.
mind to tell the HD video use what codec? u should find a highly optimized video player to playback the HD video instead of transcoding it.

that video is in DivX

btw, I think it is spec problem
thats why I want to convert it to rmvb... but will resize and lower the bitrate......

up to u tongue.gif
tell us ur full pc spec and what player u use, that should help to identify the lag problem.

Pentium 4 1.7Ghz
384MB RAM (133Mhz)
GeForce FX 5200

with the spec above, can I watch high bitrate 1280x720 HD smoothly?? sweat.gif

download smplayer, http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/
after install it, at menu there, click preference > go to advanced > go to "Options for mplayer" tab > type -lavdopts fast:lowres=1 on "options:" there.
the option lowres=1 will reduce the video resolution by 50% which doesnt require cpu resoures, lowres=2 will reduce further, but i think it only works with mpeg video + avi container.

YES!!! rclxm9.gif
I know I ask the right person!!! rclxm9.gif

anyway, I notice that when the video name is in Japanese/Chinese, it can't play
must rename it to English first
btw, the subtitle is in Chinese... is that the reason that sub cannot be display??
