how do u convert WMA to mp3, i dled a cool music vid, but i want to burn the music only.. pls help

i need a prog to extract mkv files , ripping movies/episodes into smaller files ( not encoding!) http://corecodec.org/frs/?group_id=55&release_id=102 link for mkvextract isnt working

for example i wan the part when the jedi fights in star wars movies , nothing else other than that..
