how good is this allok converter? can it do mkv to avi (divx/xvid)?
is the conversion quality very good

Added on November 4, 2007, 2:02 amhmm with allok, we cannot modify the vid bitrate and the audio bitrate individually eh?
i want to limit the file size ... sad.gif

hehe ..quite noob too .. not familiar with virtualdub on ogm files

whats the diff between full processing, normal recompress, fast recompress and direct stream copy ?
also, i want to do the files in batch ... how? each file have to do manually?

how to balance out between resolution, bit rate, and file size if we want to resize a video?
any tips/rule-of-thumb to do this?

let say i want to resize a file from 350mb to 260mb, what's the best bit rate, resolution, bits/pixel to use so that the quality loss is not too severe?
any tips?

I've tried both mediacoder and format factory. i like both of them but then the target file size is always off. I've played around with the bitrate settings and all but it still outputs with lower file size than i set.
i'm converting xvid/divx files into avi with xvid codec. i want to retain all the original codec settings except the video bitrate only. basically i just want to reduce the file size a little bit.

for example, resize the file from 350MB to 300MB. (with slight reduction in quality of course)
any tips?
