vbr mode is like that one iirc, if the part of the audio doesnt require such high bitrate to encode, then it will stay at lowest bitrate as set by user during transcoding.

and depend on audio player u use, some player will only show average bitrate, instead of dynamic bitrate info.

maybe thats yours, but my requirement is very high
finally i hv successfully convert it in VBR mode but need to sacrifice to a big MP3 file size cry.gif

u can try mine config:

abr 134 -h --nspsytune --athtype 2 [--lowpass 16] --ns-bass -8

abr still same as constant, in vbr mode the bitrate fluctuate like hell rclxm9.gif

hmm, custom command line options is not recommended, unless u know what are u doing tongue.gif
and abr 134 is... sweat.gif quite a low bitrate setting.

duh its depend on settings, and i seldom use mp3 encoder tongue.gif
highest quality settings for lame mp3 encoder = --cbr 320 -h lol
if this one cant satisfy u, use lossless codec instead? brows.gif

actually wat is the  'normal cd' song file? its not mp3 nor wma... if i can find the type of file it uses, prolly i can use some converter to convert my mp3/wma files into... .cda?
