QUOTE(jetkiat @ Dec 25 2006, 08:50 PM)
Just want to ask what is the diffrent btw 2 model..??

just the without fan model can fix 478 socket or both..?

if i buy the without fan model...is that included the 4 fan clip..???

what is the price for :

withfan model add 1 more fan..?(clip included)

without fan model add 2 fan..?(clip included)

*
The difference between this two model is:-

No fan ver------- will fit all socket (including 478) EXCEPT AM2. you need to buy the AM2 kit (i not bringing that in for now).

With fan ver----- will fit all socket EXCEPT soc 478. they dont provide the mounting for 478.

Both of the ver come with 4 fan clips (you can mount two fans).

if u want to use for 478, u must get the no fan ver and sorry i am not selling the fan only for now. need to take too many units smile.gif

Noctua can beats out a Thermalright XP-120 , here http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/noctua/testing.htm

Ppl buy Noctua for a reason , its superior cooling effects and
super-quiet fan-operated environment .

Dont think there is a fan-cooled HSF products out there that can operate
like the NH-U12F at 7~8 db and yet still produce optimal cooling effects .

You wont regret buying a Noctua HSF , bro . Especially the NH-12F .

sweat.gif why does they take an old series of thermalright xp series to do comparison? its not even in production, and last retail price was Rm15x, i dont think its fair to compare it since NOCTUA series is price 2xx above, compare lah Ultra 120 series, baru can correct ni, but from the test on ur site u mention, hmm i feel its so-so only for tat price range.. no offence yah... honest opinion ni.. whistling.gif

The thermalright Ultra 120 can perform better than the XP-120 about 4~5 deg.C at load . No doubt about it .

For me I will try to use the the Noctua NH-U12F with an Noctua A.L.N.A. ( Ultra Low noise adapter ; bundled only with NH-U12F )which only generate about 7db~ 8db and still would achieve about 95% efficiency for the cooling operation .

For me the extra 4~5 deg C won't kill your CPU . Unless your CPU is running at something like >75 deg. C .

I bet there is NO fan-cooled HS that can beat the Noctua at this noise level .
NOT even the Ultra-120 with fan .

Again ppl looking at the best cooling solution performance nowadays should look to a
water-cooling system NOT a fan cooling system . Buy the water-cooling
HS from Zalman / Thermaltake and they will beat the daylight out of MOST
of the fan-cooled HS now available in market this include their own brand , Zalman , Thermaltake , Thermalright , or even an Noctua .

I believe ppl who want to buy a Noctua have already understood that they are setting up a ultra -Low noise system and still achieve the optimal cooling effect
for their CPU . smile.gif

its better to let the actual reviews results speaks for themself,

FIY, the review they using 1600RPM fan for test, hmm, hmm can anyone even hear tat in a closed casing, i wonder, whistling.gif

if it comes down to performance versus low fan rpm ,
i'll opt for performance anytime, whistling.gif

reviewer still used xp120 to compare because it had been proven as one of the best heatsink all time. you are correct about comparing Ultra 120 with Noctua NH-U12. though i dont have the proper review with me, but i dare to say that Noctua NH-U12 and Ultra 120 is on par and Noctua can do it with lesser noisy. that is the beauty of Noctua Heatsink.

if u think the price is expensive, you can get the non fan version and install a high power fan yourself. i am sure Noctua wont lose to any highend heatsink in the market. smile.gif

it is a very subjective question. in your case, you opt for more performance rather than silence setup. but in my case and most of friend, silence setup is the way to go. Noctua is meant for that sole reason, it can score very high in term of Noise Level / Performance Ratios.

For ppl looking for performance , should consider getting himself a water-cooled
HS instead of fan-cooled . We are talking about low noise set-up here .
Also I believe that for most of us that sets up a pc , the cpu fan is not the only fan inside the casing . HDD and Optical Drive can also gererate some sort of noise. Myself , I use 3 X 120mm L.S. fans for my CM830 ( 1100 rpm Tt fan X 2 ) one from my ACBEL P.S. - 550W ) and still hear some noise coming out . That's how I interpret noise in my usage .

I do not know if a 1600rpm fan cannot generate noise because it is subjective
to different ppl's ears. For me , it is better if I can keep the noise level as low
as possible for my work environment .

Again , ppl looking for cooling performance might have diff interpretation about
noise level , so this debate might well go on for another 5 pages .

I think we should stop debate about performance vs noise level as this is
Noctua NH-U12F we are talking about here . Ppl that want performance
with "his tolerable noise level " can always look else where to get his stuff .

Or maybe start his thread to debate about the top performing HSF . I believe
there is a lot of ppl out there who can give their valuable comments .

Well, a watercooling is not always the best solution for a buyer on a budget. I also suggest to keep the discussion about the heatsink out of this thread. You guys should discuss it at a proper location.

About comparing with ultra-120 with noctua. I'm not sure about this but I doubt most of the people will notice the sound produced by both of the heatsinks. Nobobdy I know will go open the casing and try to listen to it on a normal basis. I bet the fan/air-cond operating in your room will cover the noise generated.

To irangan : good luck on your bulk. You'll achieve the moq I belive.
