I have the predecessor XB270HU and seem like Malaysia been getting Acer monitor with good QC. Haven't heard of anyone complaining, at least not in LYF.

I vote for >100Hz too, with Gsync or FreeSync depending on your GPU if you're gaming. (changing GPU soon?)
If you're not gaming, it'll be wiser to stick with Dell 60Hz IPS panels and save a heap of money.

Just bought Asus MG279Q. Awesome IPS 144hz monitor. Colors very vivid and it has Freesync if u r using AMD cards. But the freesync is only 35-90hz.

But if u have awesome graphics, 980ti or furyX, 144hz gaming n ips monitor, really is an awesome experience. Using furyx in my pc

That's a very generous budget.

at RM 2k - 3k range it's always QHD - 4K UHD resolution.

Our BL2710PT is one of them, at RM 1,999 http://www.benq.com/product/monitor/BL2710PT/

Any recommendations, besides the Apple Thunderbolt Display, for a 27", 1440 paired with a mac mini? As i know, resolution above 1080 need to go on either thunderbolt or MDP.

Acer XB271HU - 27-inch 1440p 144Hz IPS G-SYNC Monitor

Best 27 inch QHD 2K monitor with phenomenal colors and 144Hz (165Hz with G-SYNC).

Just that set back is the latency of 4ms which is normal for all new IPS panel, and last but not least is the brand ACER. Not sure how good is the QC, you know paying high price...

Else you can go for asus pg279q that is equivalent spec. Else sacrifice some 65hz and take acer predator x34 with ultrawide display.

All the above has the same led panel ah-ips if not mistaken

So now i am having similar headache, trying to aim for 27in monitor...usage will be mixture of everything, photo editing, movies, and gaming...

For this model U2715H, i think the colors will be amazing. But on the other hand, with this model S2716DG, i will have fast response time but then the color gamut will be a lot less...

Is TN panel really not recommended and should i just go with IPS panel?

I am currently using a very old Samsung monitor and kinda outdated with the progress already...thanks in advance for feedbacks/advice to be given...

i know this monitor is REALLY expensive but the Acer XB271HU its god mode & trust me its a totally different world when you use it for gaming. But i guess u need min a gtx 1070/980ti to power it.
dont go 1440p if yr gpu cant handle it. Korean monitors are also great sadly you need import...delivery & transport if scary from so far away.

If u use for video editing , go for ips if u can , but I need to remind u about ips light bleed issue ,

As for gamer like me , I stick with my s2716dg, tn panel won't be my issue

In my opinion... for monitors especially... it is either you get a defective product or non defective at moment of purchase... especially dead pixels... if everything is fine... high chances your monitor will last for years without any issues.... smile.gif

Which model?
You mean QX2414 144Hz ?
That one has 2 versions.
Dual-dvi input only model is overclockable to 177Hz, while there's another version with HDMI support but can't overclock to 177Hz.
I have 4 threads nowadays..

ok how about 4-5ms response time XD haha, I'm currently looking at the Viewsonic VX2776-smhd and the AOC I2769VM both about 4-5ms GtG?. I'm currently using a S2340L which has response time of 7ms and i'm not having much of an issue so are there any other better recommendations or which of these should I pick from.

I have just bought a 31.5 inch 1080p monitor from AOC with free-sync for RM1,850.

Frankly, I will always go with bigger screen as a monitor if price permits.

Going from 24inch to 24inch with better specifications will result in very little changes in "experience from gaming".

I always suggest going for a bigger monitor, if possible.

Of course, it would best to go with Acer Predator x34a or Asus Swift 34 inch Monitors but it would be very expensive as well.

I am currently using a 47inch Full HD TV at home as a monitor for the past 3 to 4 years.

Planning to change to 4k TV soon. Probably early next year or so.

I'm just using BendQ XL2720Z with GTX 970. So far so good with 144hz but no G-Sync though. Last time I didn't set my monitor to 144hz... in 60hz got tearing even in cut scene and graphic I put medium setting only.

Borderlands Pre Sequel and Rise of Tomb Raider.

I haven't set my monitor refresh rate. That's why got screen tearing. Even in 30fps also tearing. I pandai pandai suspected my graphic card maybe cannot go high.... Haha... Silly me.

Right after adjusting the refresh rate... All setting I set to high and unlimited FPS... No problem for Borderlands but PhysX I put medium cuz I heard ppl said Borderlands didn't optimized it.

Tomb Raider haven't try though.

Guys got any recommendations for a monitor 27" IPS around 1k that won't have ghosting or motion blur?
*
Not possible at that budget - either you raise the budget for a proper 1440p 144Hz IPS (with potential panel issues such as backlight bleed), and costs significantly more (nearly 3-4x your current budget), or scale back to 1080p 144Hz TN. icon_idea.gif

Also 144Hz monitor requires massive GPU horsepower (depending on the games you play and the settings), you might want to look into dual GPU setups. icon_idea.gif

If you have the money (I mean you have 20K to spend on a monitor) then the Dell UP3017Q is essentially the best monitor you can buy since it's the only monitor with

1. 4K
2. 120Hz refresh rates
3. True blacks (i.e. infinite contrast ratios)
4. No ghosting, as OLEDs do not suffer from such issues

The only limitations are OLEDs are prone to burn in, and there are very few manufacturers that are willing to put resources into OLED manufacturing. icon_idea.gif

Dilemma between 24 inch and 27 inch monitor laugh.gif

Also, does BenQ GW2470HM and Dell SE2717H come with speaker? If not, any other 24" or 27" recommend?

Was aiming for G sync 27" or 32" monitor but they always cost a bomb. Maybe I will lower down my aim to 1440p monitor instead. Not gonna aim for 144Hz since that requires very strong GPU and I don't have that.

In that case what would be the budget 27" or 32" monitor for gaming? Refresh rate or resolution more important? hmm.gif

What was the model name of the AOC monitor that you bought?

EDIT: Found it, it was AOC Agon AG271QG. Wow 1920 x 1080 for 31.5"? sweat.gif The pixel gonna irritates the hell out of me.

Anyone actually tried gaming using the Dell IPS monitor? Currently I am using an old monitor but with 1 or 2ms response time so everything is smooth so far...but the monitor start to have some buzzing sound so I guess it is just a matter of time before I need to replace it....

With gemfive having rm200 discount code now... is it worth getting the Acer Predator for rm2999?
