hi guys, can anyone recommend me a good value-for-money vacuum cleaner ? I see now plenty manufacturers offer cyclone type and some use filter. I'm overwhelmed by the choices. I wish to not spend a lot. Toshiba has one for rm500. samsungs also around that prices. What about filter replacement availability ? many concerns

Cyclone bagless. Low noise Lightweight With HEPA exhaust filter (must) Electrolux has some models around RM300 with above features. |

My criteria for a good vacuum cleaner -
1. Must have bag, and preferably S-Bag. Vacuum cleaner is suppose to clean for you not you end up cleaning the vacuum cleaner (bagless kind) 2. The attachment must be able to lock together and not friction fitted. Friction fits will come loose and become a nuisance when you do your cleaning. Attachment rod/wands preferably not plastic as plastic breaks easily. 3. Exhaust should have a Hepa filter to prevent dust from coming back out. Get those that comes with washable Hepa filter 4. Not too heavy. If too heavy it will be a chore to carry it up and your stairs. Make sure it can also roll around easily. 5. The thing should be reasonably quiet. Hate those that is so loud the whole neighborhood can hear you do your cleaning End up I getting this - http://m.electrolux.com.my/Products/Cleaning/Bag/ZUSG4061/ If you wait for their warehouse sale you can get 40-50% off I have a 20 year old National MC-2700 that I'm still using everyday. Noticed it's still under National last time. I still can get bags for it. This post has been edited by idoblu: Jan 20 2016, 01:22 PM |

Bagless require more effort to clean the filter inside the dust box.
If not, the suction will reduce a lot. |

I bought Electrolux ZVE4010. I liked the adjustable suction power function on the vacuum. Different power to suck on solid floor vs carpet.

I am using Electrolux ZUF4206DEL bagless type. The suction power is good and easier to clean.
There are two filters and a dust container to clean after the vacuum. The filters and dust container are well designed in a way which the removable parts can be taken out easily for cleaning. I have no regrets for purchasing the bagless type and very happy with this model. |

Just FYI, currently the best vacumm cleaner in the market is come from Dyson, UK company, manufactured in Senai, Johor. However the price is not affordable to most of the ppl in Malaysia.
Some said bagless will need to clean the filter occasionally to avoid suction loss, basically this is due to poor separation they designed in the machine. Cyclone is the Dyson patented technology 20 years ago that basically patent expired nowadays so everyone is able to copy and use the name now. Unfortunately some can't master the separation technology correctly and causing some degree of debris bypass the bin and stick to the pre-filter hence suction loss. I have a Dyson cylinder vacumm cleaner that used for clean my new house after renovation, sucks all the concretes, wire stray, left over cement dust and alot of fine dust without clogging and lose suction even the bin is full. I couldn't get to see any bagged models for both Electrolux & Philips. QUOTE(dp82 @ Mar 6 2016, 01:11 AM) For me now its indispensable. Brooms stirs up dust everywhere. Any brand will do. Just make sure you can buy the replacement pad. It seems awkward at first but once you get the hang of it, it's fast and easy. To remove the dust from the mop, you either shake it rigorously to dislodge the dust or use a vacuum cleaner. I do both. For wet mopping, I prefer the Rubbermaid's spray mop. This one you do not need to follow the forward movement and just use it like other mops. |

An Update : Nothing much in Best Denki - saw the above models at a cheaper price, but they don't have product knowledge at all. Asked a few questions about the model and I received only clueless stares most times (staff couldn't speak English and very little Bahasa).
Meanwhile, saw a Bosch model (bagged) on promotion in Lazada: BSGL3126GB . Thought I will share it here ... Click to see the Review This post has been edited by Career26: Mar 6 2016, 06:42 PM |

After considering a lot of factors (more so on the budget side), I finally bought my Electrolux ZLUX1831AF. A very noob question here that I really need some help with. Decided to post here after my exhausting efforts contacting Electrolux directly through their FB page but no proper explanation was given. The questions was this:
1. For this model, is the filter washable? - they replied me with a one-word answer "NO". This was my response to that: Your answer to this is contradicting to the specs given in your website for the same model. Please refer to the attached screenshot of the specs from your website and also your brochure. One clearly says washable and the other does not mention anything. This is what my main concern is – how can I get various product info from various sources from Electrolux? Whether my question is directed to a product specialist, or a brochure or your website or your dealer – aren’t they all supposed to be giving the customer with same info??" Then, their reply: >> Sorry for the miscommunication and not being clear about this, but there are 2 filters in this vacuum cleaner, the one that we mentioned that is not washable is the microfilter, but the HEPA filter is actually washable. I was confused between the two as their Quick Guide did not have a written description of which one is a HEPA Filter and which one is Micro Filter. Here is the picture of the filters : one has a white frame and the other one in black looks like a foam. It may sound like a noob question but I haven't had a chance to look at the internal parts of a vacuum before. I did write to them and waiting for a reply. But, to confuse me further, Electrolux UK had this explanation under their FAQ link: Electrolux UK - FAQ - Identifying washabale filters It goes like this:How do I know if the filter is washable? On Electrolux vacuums, washable HEPA filters have a blue frame around them. Non washable filters have a green frame around them. In the meantime, I thought I would post my question here as well if anyone could guide me on this accurately. Thanks a lot. |

I own 2 Electrolux VC for the past few years and this is my experience I can share with you. There are 3 types of filter in a Electrolux VC. The black sponge like filter (F1) act as a pre filter to the Hepa filter (F2), these two filters are placed before the motor. Then the third filter is a thin layer of carbon filter (F3) placed after the motor (exhaust). I only clean F1 and F2 because F3 can't be cleaned. Regardless of washable or non washable, don't wash F1 and F2 with water. If you wash, the F1 will become lembik sooner than its expected useful lifespan. F2 will become less effective because wet fine dust gets harden when dry and it will clog up your F2. Replacement cost for F1 is RM15.90 and F2 is between RM40 to RM50 depending on models. Since I have 2 VCs at home, I use VC to dry cleaning F1 and F2, a few knocks and a fine stick should do the trick. If you have no intention to own 2 VC, then you can buy extra set of F1/F2 as alternate replacement and dry cleaning the filters. |

Any vacuum cleaner to recommend, below RM 500 for pet dander removal?
I set eyes on Samsung Anti Tangle VC4100 but was warned that it doesn't last beyond 2 years. Currently using an old bagless Panasonic (about 10years +) which gets clogged very fast with pet dander. |

After 2 years of using handheld vacuum (Electrolux ZB3314AK-RM600), it's just not powerful enough. The good thing for handheld VC it's convenient to use and easy to store.
Few months ago, I bought a new Samsung VC (VC21K5170HG) at RM699. It's not as convenient as handheld VC but it gives so much more suction power. Given the difference in price is so minimal, i'll never buy another handheld VC. My lesson for not researching VC 2 years ago before buying. |

For best mobility vacumn cleaner, Dyson is a class above the rest. Of course it comes with huge price tag but it's worth the dollars you pay for it considering the benefits derived from it's functions.

If you can't afford Dyson product, try Dibea C17 2-in-1 Cordless Vacuum. Can vacuum low pile carpet, easy to empty the dirt bin, swivel vacuum head to go in cornering, 4 hours charge to do 40min vacuum and price tagged at around Rm330 in lazada!

I'm actually looking for something to solve my problem with hair on my floor. The dust bin is easy to clean, without entangled mess but since it empties from the top; sometimes dust flies out or gets trapped between the lid and the outside (not a deal breaker for me); the cyclonic system also compresses dust and hair together; so dust stays in one compressed piece without creating a dust cloud when emptying (better to empty when it is about 1/3 full) and most importantly, suction performance does not degrade even when the dust bin is full; as compared to our old mid tier Panasonic. This is a win. Its less noisy compared to my old Panasonic vacuum and has EPA 10 filtration; 2 stage filter on the dust container (towards suction motor) and one more at exhaust; so not much particulate flying around while vacuuming. Noise rating is 82 dB. Probably those vacuum around 70 dB would be considered quiet? Light and easy to transport; built quality is good and has 2 years warranty. Suction Power for the FC9352 is 350W to 370W; powerful enough for daily use. This post has been edited by dayalan86: Nov 27 2018, 01:47 PM |

Pet dander was an issue with the Old Panasonic Cyclonic Vacuum, the suction drops midway and the cleaning is tedius as I have to "peel" of the dust from the cyclone dust trap. |

I did bought at LAZADA
dibea D18, cordless vacuum, quite nice. RM300+ for me is worth to buy. but this one is ship from China, so no warranty. If want warranty can bought from Local dealer, but price will higher a bit. this is my sharing post in chinese: https://www.facebook.com/DDstory15/photos/a...?type=3&theater This post has been edited by jforjean: Jan 3 2019, 11:18 AM |

The C17 roller brush can also be removed but every long hair gets wrapped round it and gets dragged into towards the drive belt, it became a real hassle to have to dismantle to power brush shell to remove hair from the drive belt sprocket. In my opinion the design has never been properly tested. Anyway I wouldn't buy another Dibea vacuum. How much for xiaomi robot? expensive or not? I bought the Xiaomi robot for RM1000 including shipping, it's the first model - without mop. If you do a bit of preparation before use - clear away cables, etc. on the floor it does a great job, much more thorough than manually vacuuming. You still need another vacuum for the furniture, cobwebs, window cills, stairs and other places. I've read some discussion here about the 2nd gen version with mop as well. |

I think this thread should be a little updated since 2019.) I just got a robot vacuum cleaner (not Xiaomi) and omg, I didn't expect I would like it so much. If any of you guys now are in search of a good vacuum cleaner (as a present may be for your parents/wife/friend) you should read this article on aeonreviews.com. After examining their recommendations I decided to buy Ilife V3s Pro robotic vacuum cleaner and don't regret it at all. I used to have robot vacuums but in the end gave up on them and back to the manual Electrolux bagless vacuum. More reliable and durable and it's way way cheaper.
The electrolux vacuum is still going strong after 6 years of heavy usage. Just recently changed the HEPA filter and some foams, RM75 from shopee for the parts only. This post has been edited by lyt25_1234: Nov 29 2021, 07:59 PM |

I went to dyson shop and saw the latest model v12. Seems like they have made improvement to their head so now hair wont get stuck there as the previous models.
Anyone bought v12 and care to share review? |

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Nov 29 2021, 07:57 PM) I used to have robot vacuums but in the end gave up on them and back to the manual Electrolux bagless vacuum. More reliable and durable and it's way way cheaper. May I know which model you bought? The electrolux vacuum is still going strong after 6 years of heavy usage. Just recently changed the HEPA filter and some foams, RM75 from shopee for the parts only. |

Recently bought Dreame H12 during 2.2 sale and got a free Xioami 3C air purifierTineco vs Karcher It quite good with 35 mins runtime My advice to you is to find one that have a large CWT. In the case of H12, the CWT would run out first before the battery I chose Dreame instead of Tineco coz I used their V10 stick vacuum before. My Dreame V10 lasted longer than my Dyson V11 Fluffy My Dyson had numerous issues with reliability such as trigger patah and canister hinge pecah Since Dreame and Tineco charges arm/leg for their cleaning solution, go and get the knockoff plant-based cleaning solution elsewhere On shopee there are tons seller selling cleaning solution for robotvacs This post has been edited by Meowman: Feb 9 2023, 12:36 PM KenDiriwan liked this post

QUOTE(KenDiriwan @ Feb 9 2023, 12:45 PM) Unfortunately yes. Hair, discarded floss, benang will wrap around the rollerFor dry vacuum I have seen some brand put in sikat like feature to prevent hair tangling in the roller So far I havent seen it implemented on wet/dry vacuum yet Tineco kasi you a cleaning tool to untangle hair Dreame kasi none, so I use a gunting to clean out hair KenDiriwan liked this post

Hi all, I have been using iLife robot vacuum for about 5 years now. It's been serving me well for its price range. Recently though I noticed that I constantly gets beeping sound whenever the unit goes back to its base. Any idea how to solve this? Also, the vacuum will return to base on its own a lot sooner than usual, does this mean that the battery needs replacement?

QUOTE(ozak @ Jul 12 2023, 02:25 PM) Use bag cleaner. I am a bit OCD. The problem with bagless is the sucking power gets less and needs frequent to clean the filter. Even if it bagged vacuum cleaner, I would wash the cloth bag every time I used finish. In this case, does it make a different other than convenient? |

i had a electrolux Q6 vacuum which was working quite fine for about a year for daily use.
then exactly 1 year later, right after warranty period, it suddenly just stopped working! I sent to service centre and they are quoting me RM650 for change of battery and nozzle! which is almost RM200 less than buying a complete new one. What should i do? And how come this happened? need expert advise. This post has been edited by juvaan: Jul 27 2023, 06:57 PM |

You can DIY change the battery. Buy from shopee cheaper. I help my MIL DIY change the battery. 2x the working time with less than RM120. Of course free labor. juvaan liked this post

Nice to hear newer Dysons stick vacs have those. I need to cut off the hair tangles off my V11 heads quite frequenly by using scissors. Well it is part of my routine head cleaning once I see hairs and accumulated dusts on it.Great vac, it has been 4 years now. Changed the motor in year 3 but somehow the battery is still good until today. |

There are also self cleaning stick vacuums like LG CordZero Tower and Samsung Bespoke.
Makes emptying the dustbin hassle free but you do need dustbags. |

Can anyone here recommend me a compact bagless wired vacuum cleaner?
I already have Dyson V8, but I need a more powerful vacuum for my carpet and hard to reach area. This post has been edited by Created On 21/1/2021: Jan 4 2024, 03:54 PM |

Bought Tineco Pure One S12EX in early 2022, about a month before the waranty expired it has issue where when using full stand the roller having trouble rolling as if power cut off intermittence. Reported to Tineco for warranty a little late as I need to go for outstation and they quoted RM180 to replace the pole or whatever you call it.
Ended up I open it up, trace the issue to be corroded pins. Using sand paper to polish the pins and it worked like new again. Anyway, just avoid Tineco. |
