Lazada's 12.12 sales started, prices now as low as ~RM6,799 ie. RM6,999 minus RM200 coupon from some of the stores I checked.

So tempted but I don't watch TV all that much to justify buying one biggrin.gif

Was in Best Denki KLCC earlier today. LG 55" C7 was on sale for RM5,999 on clearance, old stock and not the display model; although I didn't ask if the soundbar offer still applies for this one. The LG 55" C8 was RM8k.

LG 65" C8 surprisingly was RM11,299 if I recall correctly. Huge surprise for me as that's even lower than whatever Lazada is charging.

Too bad I've decided that I can't afford an LG OLED biggrin.gif

I used to enable VPN on my wifi AP (dd-wrt, openvpn), connect the Amazon Fire Stick via VPN and could watch all the US based shows. Haven't tried it with a TV app but it should be identical. Setup is a lot more involved though so may not be worth it just to sign up to prime for this particular reason.

Hi, I have Desa Home Theatre Gift Voucher worth RM 1250 expiring on 31 Dec 2018, selling for RM800.

I would've taken it from you if you posted this just 1 day ago. Was at Desa Home last night, just picked up a TV myself.

what is the best deal for OLED TV right now?
looking to buy 55" OLED this week

About RM7k online. I've not seen any retail outlet match that price yet although most are very close.

For c8
Lazada is about RM6998 from shop name “electrical shop”
Best denki is RM7999
Best denki also has display set unit cost around RM4999

Anyone can share experience buying tv online esp lazada?

I hate shopping online on Lazada especially when it's on sale, you order expecting the seller to have stock. Then you wait for several weeks as the vendor cannot get stock or not willing to ship it to you because it's too low, expecting you to cancel the order instead. Happened to me when ordering from several vendors including Senheng, my Reolink camera, Viewsonic 32" monitor and Samsung TV all ordered around or after the 11.11 sale. Only the first one arrived after almost 3 weeks. Any lawyers want to go against Lazada for practicing bait and switch tactics? smile.gif

Anyway back to the original question, Desa Home has it for RM7,299. They've been willing to come close to online prices. I went to the one in USJ

Price still 7299. Then got 700 cash voucher.

Cash voucher valid until Dec 31 2018? Kinda pointless if it is...

There's going to be an IT & Electronics expo at Mid Valley 21-23 December. You may want to see if you can get good deals there too.

Waa, this is good price, which shop is this ? rclxms.gif

Desa Home. The cash voucher is a gimmick though, it's RM50 off for each RM500 purchase so only 10% off for large purchases, not free money.

Best Denki KLCC can beat Desa Home's price for the 65" C8, currently RM10,999 until sometime in January 2019.

Senheng is selling the 65" C8 quite cheap if you consider the 10% rebate given ~ RM10,350
*
To be clear, EZ Credit can only be used to buy more stuff from Senheng, and max RM500 per transaction.
So if you have plans to buy RM1,150+ worth of stuff from Senheng over the next 12 months this is a good deal.

Otherwise the likes of Desa Home and Best Denki KLCC are selling outright for RM10,999

Also don't forget that CES 2019 is on Jan 9th 2019, all the major vendors will announce new TVs then although I don't expect that there'll be a huge change from the 2018 LG OLEDs.

If by any chance , they have moved on to the top omission OLEDS , the next year OLEDs should see a pretty dramatic increase in terms of brightness due to improvement to the aperture ratio , expect to see an OLED TV with over 1000 ( or 1500 ) nits brightness . The better electro-optical efficiency should also allow more headroom for burn ins , not just increased brightness .

Not to mention , Samsung is planning a come back in the premium OLED market with their Quantum Dot BLUE OLEDs , which is said to be more efficient  , even wider color gamut without the compromise of color saturation at high brightness , more resistant to burn - ins vs the typical WRGB OLEDs developed by LGD .

Thanks for the info, if LG does release brighter OLED TVs I'm expecting it to appear on their Signature and E lines first, not really applicable to cheap buyers like me biggrin.gif but progress is definitely good.

The Samsung OLED tech looks interesting! We're finally getting choices and good competition, I for one am looking forward to cheaper OLEDs.

The MCO has me itching to get a TV. Currently don't have one, just moved house. But it's almost May now and people are saying the CX will be out in June. Will we see a huge drop in price for the C9 once the CX comes out? Or have prices already dropped since the C9 is on the way out (I mean, not really but it won't be the flagship anymore)?
*
Based on my very limited experience around 2018, the lowest prices tend to be end of the year (11.11 sales, end of year sales, everyone trying to meet their sales quota). CNY sales tend to come close, but by mid year I'm guessing stocks have been depleted already so there weren't that many good options

This is in johor. Wait for Desa Home 25/9 sale between 12am-2am

RM8999 - 10% cashback = RM8099 roughly + same free gifts also

*
Shopee is sneaky. For large purchases more than RM5k you can only pay with credit card (and are limited to 5,000 coins cashback). There's no way to use ShopeePay for more than RM5k as far as I know because that's the limit of ShopeePay.

So in short that RM 8,999 is the final price.

Having said that, Desa Home has the older stock Panasonic 65" GZ1000 OLED for RM7,500 which I think is a pretty good deal for a 65" OLED. As far as I know it's using the LG C9 OLED panel.

My plasma is dying so I'm planning to buy a 65" CX at Desa Home and will likely get the extended warranty as well. I was just wondering if anyone had experience claiming for any issues during their extended warranty period and how easy/difficult it was. I'm guessing this would apply mainly to those with C8 or older models, the others would still be under the standard LG warranty
