QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jul 19 2018, 03:52 PM) I didn't and I won't. mind to share the reason that you're not taking it?But I do know a guy who had a B6 and it got bricked when flashing firmware. He had an extended warranty with HN and they replaced his set with an entirely new C7. That was last year. So I guess, it's not so bad? |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jul 19 2018, 03:56 PM) I see... like the B6 case you shared, if he didn't buy the Extended Warranty, then it could have to purchase a brand new C7 which cost like 8-9K at that time, right?I still wondering whether to get the extended warranty or not.. as the cost is not cheap... |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jul 19 2018, 04:08 PM) Life is full of 50/50s. If nothing happened, then the extended warranty is basically for nothing. For the retailer, it's easy pocket money because the amount for replacements simply doesn't exceed the blind profits they get from extended warranty buy-ins. Thank you so much for the explanation.. I will had to calculate whether that "peace of mind" worth it or not.. It's up to you if you want that "peace of mind". Keep in mind, it's Malaysia and it's case by case basis. I don't think extended warranties guarantees that you'd get a new model if your current model is fixable which is usually subjected to availability of parts and also the proper expertise to fix a specific issue. |

QUOTE(wikzs @ Aug 1 2018, 09:28 AM) This is what I used to decide between 55 and 66 inches #1 budget wise is allow to consider that's why dilemma #1 - budget of course. If your budget doesn't allow 65 inches then it's no use to consider #2 - your seating distance from the TV. I estimated the distance between my sofa to the TV and then went to the showroom and stood/sat that distance away to see which size is more comfortable for me. As for the SST or free soundbar, when I went to Desa, they said as long as I've paid for the TV but haven't collected/delivered it, then I am eligible to claim for any promos that pop up; i.e. If I paid for the TV in full in August but plan to have it delivered end-September, and a free soundbar promo pops up up early-September, then I am eligible to request for that soundbar. #2 currently I only measure based on TV measurement on specification sheet and TV Size to Distance Calculator using Rtings.com, didn't really go test on the real distance like you said. #3 SST price increase is still unknown, but pretty sure there's increase of price. #4 I checked with Harvey Norman, they said this is not possible, as LG will check on the Tax Invoice and see whether you purchase the TV within the Free Soundbar period. if you're purchase before or after the free soundbar promotion, theoretically you're not entitled. but don't know how true when compare to Desa explanation. |

Grab it fast as I was told LG having problem with the delivery as their stock running low. Thank you so much for your sharing! If you wish to extend warranty for another 3 years, you need to add RM 850. |
