but but but. G3 will be much much much more expensive than C3.

nice for G3 to have 2000nits on such a big screen.
*
G2 price down to a reasonable 12k - 13k range for 65 inch now

wondering how G2 gonna compare with C3

probably both gonna be similarly priced here

is G2 worth the money compared to C2 ?
*
If you want the extra brightness then yes

Also note that G2 must be wall mounted, unless u buy the optional table stand which is not great according to reviews

G2PSA vs C3 65"
Any comment?

Harvey Norman got price clearance for 9699 display unit, or brand new unit for 10399 for G2PSA
*
G2 for the higher brightness

Anyone managed to download UNIFI TV apps into LG TV?

https://unifi.com.my/tv/ms/devices/other-smart-tvs

LG App Content store doesn't have the apps, or I rather can't find it. Do I need to sideload it? How can it be done?
*
LG TV is on webOS... unless Unifi create an app for it otherwise there's no way to install

i) use the Unifi box

or

ii) get a Google TV dongle and install the app on Google TV

Personally I can't decide on a G3 77" or a C3 83". They're the same price and no it's not simply a mere "6-inch difference je".
*
G3 is significantly brighter compared to last year's G2.... which itself is already brighter than the C2/C3

why not consider S95C as well?

MLA is an upgrade yes. But so is 83".

Been on 77" for 4 years now, it's starting to look small.

QD-OLED isn't mature enough yet. I'm not sinking 30k just to "deal with the issues" over the next 5 years.
*
just incase if you somehow consider 83" G3 as well... note that it doesnt have MLA. So you might be better off with 83" C3 anyway

i mean is ppl wont even bother to do research before hand, at least u do some shortlisting. Most ppl here when want to buy TV, just go harvey norman, then say wan buy TV, then all is let salesman bring u fly kite lol. like if u dunno samsung no dolby vision, then u go for samsung, then u missed out dolby vision. yeah some ppl may think it is not important, but i can say dolby vision vs HDR10 difference is there, dolby vision HDR is much more realistic lighting if u watch in dark room and the video is properly mastered, thats y OLED benefit much from it.

i wont even bother about TV sound quality lol, prefer proper speakers setup.
*
Most people wouldnt know unless 1) they are already used to dolby vision, 2) they have 2 different TV at the same time (one w dv vs one without) that they can tell the difference side by side. I'm not saying DV is bad, the fact is its the standard now when it comes to HDR, but most consumers would struggle to point out the difference

As long the image looks good to your eyes is all that matters. To hell with image accuracy, yeah I'm gonna get flamed for this but in the end you buy your TV to enjoy according to what your eyes perceive. First week I have my TV, i set it up accordingly to have the most accurate settings, ok not bad I thought, image look good. Then onwards I started playing around with settings that are deemed illegal by enthuasiast (eg: Contrast Enhancer etc), and to me the image looked even better. Yes its probably not accurate at this point but damm I just like how it looks and everyone will be wowed by it as well

QUOTE(Kahlamx @ Sep 19 2023, 07:57 PM)
Actually Dolby Vision came out a year before HDR10 on 2014. It is actually not just a standard but an "absolute standard" for HDR format. It's already capable of mastering up to peak brightness of 10,000 nits and 12 bit depth representing 68.7 billion colors (of course there are no commercially available display that can support 12 bit yet) vs 10 bit 1.07 billion on the HDR10, dynamic vs static metadata.

Basically, what Dolby created is a mastering workflow for content creators so contents displayed can be as consistent as possible across so many TV brands that come with Dolby Vision with Samsung being an exception.  tongue.gif So it's up to the TV to display the contents based on different tone map, brightness clipping, roll-off and etc capabilities. You can read up more why there is a need for absolute standard when contents slowly shift from SDR (normally display with 100 nits capabilities CRT last time) to HDR.

Not saying using contrast enhancer or saturated color is wrong, you can adjust whatever that fits your viewing experience for the wow factor. But for me, I can definitely tell DV vs HDR10 even on the same set of TV, even more so on OLED TVs and personally feel much more satisfied knowing I am viewing a well mastered content. Haha.
*
Agree with what you said above but correct me if I'm wrong with the bolded part - it doesnt matter if the content is mastered with Dolby Vision or not, in the end when its displayed to the consumers (our TVs), it boils down to how the TV process the image. I've seen so many reported cases where a TV's Dolby Vision profile is not displaying the accuracy that was expected, ending up the users still have to do their own tweaks to get the best picture. The metadata is still there which is better than none, but its not always fully utilised depending on the TV model and the user

I am trying to get OLED TV 65". Seek for few brands with almost same price.
1. LG G3 ... 2 yrs warranty.
2. LG C3 ... 3 yrs warranty.
3. Sony A80L ... 3 yrs warranty.
4. 65", should I get the 8K QLED?

My thinking here is, if LG build the good quality product, then I am safe to pick LG C3. Else, I should take C3 with 3 yrs warranty.
Sony I heard 4k upscaling is very good. Does it better than LG? I only concern is they said A80L not so bright and anti-reflection no good.

All sifu, need your advice.

G3 is a no brainer in your list there. Its a high end OLED with the latest tech (MLA) compared with others which are just mid range. If you can afford it then go for it. Alternatively you may consider Sony A95L with QD OLED. There's on going early bird promo now with free PS5

Thanks.. I worry the OLED burn in as well.. Hope to get 3 yrs warranty. That's why in dilemma.

About A95L, that is close to rm20k .. too much. My budget around rm10k, that can get TVs listed above.
*
I dont think our warranty here covers burn in though. Better check to be sure

G3 65" is already around 14 - 15k+ no? In Sony thread someone managed to get a price of 18k for A95L with free PS5

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/lg-g3-65...5gUm085&stock=1

That's why my hand itchy now.

Is the seller reliable? Unfortunately no extended warranty offered.
*
This shop was pretty reliable i think based on reviews. Just make sure they are using own delivery fleet instead of courier

But wow 11k for 65 inch G3. Really tempting

to be more precise it is rm12k  laugh.gif

But if compared to C3, the price different only rm1.5k. Which is worth to get.
I am new to OLED.. is that mean OLED more fragile and easy to get burn in?
*
Yes its a no brainer compared to C3 price

Regarding burn in, i think it depends on your usage. If mostly just movies then you are fine. If u use it to watch astro, news, sports etc with a lot of static elements then better take note

Just curious about something regarding OLED....

Lets say if I have a habit of pausing videos, especially from youtube, it can be around 10 mins up to half an hour. Does the TV have some mechanism to prevent burn in? Maybe a screensaver? Actually its my gf who have this habit tongue.gif and you dont reason with girls

Its one of the reasons why I went with miniLED in the first place, no worries about burn in no matter how I use the TV
