Dude, depends on your needs.
If you wish to have a...
slim,
fancy coloured
wish to use it during exercising
then get nano. laugh.gif
If you dun mind about the weight,
want a big capacity,
and not to use it during exercising,
you think watching video on ipod is cooler than on PSP
then get ipod video. laugh.gif

Anyway, I bought 1 ipod nano 4GB for my gf as christmas present, she is very happy now tongue.gif

its jus the small factor lo.. the smaller it is. the more u pay per gb. plus the nano uses a flash memory where as the 30gb uses a harddisk.

it all depends on yr taste and uses. are u the type where u would definately watch videos or jus need some extra space for storage purposes.

if not get the nano. its nearly half the weight of the 30gb.

jus because the 30gb plays video doesnt mean it HAS to be more exp right..

in short.. its always the weight and size..

get it!?!?

hmmm.. true.. i don't think i would wanna watch video on such a small screen.. but.. i was thinking.. if i'm gonna buy.. i might as well get one that does more.. for example, ipod video can play video where nano cannot.. is it true that ipod nano is more durable to drops compared to ipod video?

basically:
flash memory have no movable parts, where harddrive has rotating disc..
movable parts == have more tendency to spoil

don't worry about it man , it won't spoil from just that , to damage the HD supposingly needed a great impact like dropping it from high ground or having the urge to smack you ipod around, just be careful with it is more than enough

It doesn't supposrt divx/xvid. Only goes for mp4.

There are a lot of freeware converter out there, i personally recommend Videora.

So does this means u getting the 30GB ipod?

Either way, welcome to the ipod club!!!

iPod Nano now has a 24 hour battery life. The MSRP set by Apple in the United States puts both the iPod Nano 8GB and the iPod Video 30GB at $249.99 USD. They should be priced at very similar, if not identical price points.

Like everyone else has been saying, purchase the iPod Nano if you want something that you can put use to while exercising and the like. The iPod Video is great because of its massive harddrive. If you have a relatively small music library you might as well go with the iPod Nano. Both the iPod Nano 8GB and the iPod Video 30GB '5.5' Generation have the same interface.

Yes, the iPod Video will work if you jog with it, it's just that the bulk will be rather uncomfortable. Durability? How careful are you with electronics?

dude.. thanks very much for the info.. i know that ipod nano has a battery life of 24 hours and ipod video 30gb only has a battery life of 14 hours.. but i guess that doesn't really matter to me.. cos i don't think i'll be playing it for 14 hours..

i've considered the pros and cons for both ipod but its still hard for me to decide.. nano has only 8gb but its flash memory and much lighter also.. much smaller compared to ipod video.. but ipod video has 30gb space.. but its heavy and bulky..

but.. thanks for the advice... i'm still looking forward to more feedback from existing users.. thank you so much...
